You should watch the arknights Centuries animation. Its way too well animated and extremely hype. I didnt expect them to go so hard animating that

This guy really needs to react to Arknights's special PV for the 5th anniversary, it's by far the best piece of 2d animation to come out of the game. It was done by the same people who did that amazing Fate Memorial Movie back in 2023!

It's cool to see how far the Arknights animations have come since Near Light. I think they've done a better job with Yu and last year's Shu in showing them as being these transcendent demigod-esque characters. South of Midnight looks interesting. The cutscenes, particularly at the start where she's arguing with her mother, reminded me a lot of a live action show, or at least the acting did. I'm glad there's a more nuanced insight into the low-frame 3d animation style. I remember trying to watch The Dragon Prince back when it came out, and despite being interested in the story, I had a hard time actually watching it because the low framerate was too distracting. It's kind of like my brain had to spend extra energy to mentally interpolate all the movements, and I was unable to focus on what was actually going on. I had a similar feeling when watching the South of Midnight trailers here, of being distracted by watching how "stuttery" the character movements were rather than actually just watching what was going on. I also agree with the notion that, in the context of a video game rather than a movie, instead of feeling like an artistic direction, it does kind of give the impression that the game is struggling to load. I wonder if it's because of the realistic art style, compared to something like Guilty Gear, causing it to fall into the uncanny valley.
