Man I really don’t like how Frontier insists that the Dilophosaurus is just “Raptors 2.0”. I much preferred how they were in JPOG as timid, shy, reclusive carnivores but still deadly against small targets

I really want large carnivores to have the ability to kill small carnivores after they've been thrown off and are vulnerable on the ground. I just think that would be a great touch, it would help with balancing how awfully OP pack hunting is, and prevent the target from standing there aimlessly until it gets pounced again.

An adult surapod could take a dump on a raptor and smother it. Junior surapods of the 5_10ton range might be possible to a pack of 10_20raptors.

Well if you look close, the dilos scratched the leg of it with their hands and feet and also the sides. So it's not the most realistic but you can pretend that it is, just look at the blood under it and on the sides and think maybe they flip it over and scratch it

Raptors could take out an adult if it is alone and there are a lot of them, but one itbecomes a teenager small and medium dinosaurs rarely attack them, carcars and gigas did attack adults on packs and only when a few were around

It’s a good starting point and the game hasn’t been out that long but I’m definitely more excited for when they get it right. Some key things that need to happen… 1. The dinos should be more proactive when they aren’t being attacked. That could be herbivores running away or larger carnivores attacking first. 2. Sauropods really need work, they should have the ability to either crush them, kick them or use their tail depending on the species. Also the larger ones should take a lot more damage or not even be attacked at all realistically… 3. Crush damage needs to be applied and in most cases should be instant kills. 4. There should be different pack hunting animations for the different dinosaurs. Dilo and proceratosaurus shouldn’t be able to attack the same way raptors and deinonychus can. What am I missing?

@@ajb9139 well in JPOG fights where completly randome so a Trike could actually attack a Rex while the Rex was drinking or shaking a smaller dino like a galli also a T-rex could get attacked by 10 Trikes at the same Time same with other carnivores and Herbivores who could do dmg in JWE2 its all codet so when a dinosaur interacts with somethign nothign else can interact with it at the same time

If they were to insist on having Dilophosaurus being able to pack hunt, then they need to implement a different strategy in how the animals could accomplish it. I can see this being achieved like wolves hunting a buffalo. The alpha Dilophosaurus taking center stage with the most dangerous yet vital action to hunting; distracting the prey. With neck frilled and occasionally spitting at the carnivore or herbivore target, carefully it dodges the counter attacks while the others attack the legs to bring the animal down. If the pack is successful in injuring the target, then they all dogpile on it. But, there is the chance with a unique death of the current alpha Dilophosaurus; if it does, the pack flees and scatters.

@DrgGaming ; The other alternative is to have a new unique pack hunting ability with a relative to the Dilophosaurus which would be Coelophysis; similar to how groupers and eels team up to hunt prey. Dilophosaurs distract and the Coelophysis nip and jab; both species could then share the kill, even have squabbling animations since the benefits end once the prey has been taken down. Just would add more realism to the game, as real as it may get given the Jurassic Park franchise.

Dilophosaurs should not be able to kill ankylosaurus like that. They need to make a mechanic where they find a way to go for its underbelly or have it where they just can't be hurt like that. Also, no Dilophosaurus in its right mind would attack an adult sauropod.

A sauropods sheer size should be enough to deter small predators. The ankylosaurs are basically useless against them. Hadrosaurs are less, but still useless. This is disappointing

Adult surapods sheer size made even Apex predators back off. Allosaurous, for example often killed junior surapods rsther than adults Ditto for the Acros, ehich often killed junior sauroposeidons or brontosaurus. Mapusaurous, apex South American predators, are now thought to be pack hunters.

Já é um começo, gostei das novas animações, só daria algumas sugestões: 1- Os saurópodes caem muito rápido, e tem pouca defesa. Creio que na minha concepção, eles deveriam ter mais resistência a ataques de dinos de pequeno porte, e também ter defesas resistentes que tiram grandes danos em quem os atacar. 2- Os Dilofosauros não podem atacar que nem os raptores. Na minha opinião, não deveriam nem atacar Saurópodes. 3- Poderiam colocar animações da manada defendendo seus entes. 4- Em vez dos dinossauros herbívoro ficarem parado apenas sendo atacados, eles poderiam correr e de alguma forma até se livrar de seus predadores na caçada. Mas como eu disse, já é uma evolução do jogo, tudo o que está acontecendo. Tô gostando demais das atualizações.

Penso exatamente igual, chega a ser ridiculo um dinossauro de 60kg conseguindo caçar um de 80 toneladas, até grandes teropodes como Giga e T-rex tinham dificuldade em caçar esses animais, pra min sozinho só Indominous Rex que é uma total anomalia devia ser capaz de conseguir caçar um Brachiosaurus sozinho por ex, seria legal se os outros grandes teropodes como T-rex, Giga, Spino, Carca e Acrocanto só pudessem fazer isso caçando em par, carnivoros de medio porte como Carnotauro tbm nunca deveria se capaz de caçar um animal 80x mais pesado q ele, o mesmo vale pro Triceratops, Ankylosaurus ou qualquer outro dinossauro com chifres ou armadura, eles representavam perigo ao extremo até mesmo pro T-Rex e nesse jogo são tratados como bucha

I can see a pack of small carnivores attempting to defend themselves or their territory from a large carnivore, but not for a food source...That be like a pack wolves actively hunting Grizzly bears, or a pack of African wild dogs hunting a lone lion...it wouldn't be worth it, packs of smaller predators wisely keep their distance from large predators or try to avoid them completely

actually in some cases wolves are known to hunt down bears in certain situations so its not to unbelivable so if the small guys are super stressed or starving i could see this happen in a last attemp but otherwise i agree with you :)

Ah yes, the solitary animal Dilophosaurus hunting coordinately in packs. Even if you use the excuse this is 'JP logic' and it isn't intended to be accurate, both novels and movies prove otherwise; this isn't normal behavior for Dilo or most small carnivores that they've copypasted this to. I've love what this game has done, but pack hunting as shown to be lazy and disappointing bro.
