Canonically Kaeya is the one that wants Diluc to love him and wants to fix everything but Diluc doesn’t want anything to do with it

Mmm I say it goes both ways but essentially it boils down to: it's complicated. they both write to each other, and diluc holds onto the letters kaeya sends him. he even kept the vase kaeya gifted him even though diluc makes it clear he doesn't keep things that outlives their purpose. he obviously cares about kaeya, but its hard to mend or get past where they currently are in their relationship. it doesn't help that kaeya masks his pain and insecurities by being cocky and flamboyant which makes diluc keep his distance.
