There are so many sad stories to come from war. Imagine all the people who loved her before they found out she was Japanese who in an instant turned against her. I had a similar situation when I went through a divorce. All the friends I thought I had from as far back as childhood turned on me. And though I was expecting a lot would I wasn't prepared for how mean they were. Most never tried to check on me or try to re-establish contact. It was a sobering event but one of many I would get to go through as the years passed. So I felt this song. Thank you for your reaction, it was appropriate.

I don't know if you've seen the original song by Koji Tamaki but this is perhaps the only cover Dimash does where I think the original version is more powerful. If you have the time, you should watch Koji Tamaki's version. I think Koji's version is more meaningful because of his age and experience, even though Dimash is the superior singer.

I'm not trying to compare who's better here, cause I think both versions touched me in different ways. I love Japanese songs and music from God knows when so rest assured that Koji Tamaki's Ikanaide is placed in a very high place. His maturity and softness in delivering the song really soothe my soul, while Dimash's version hit me hard in the lonely spots of my heart with his high notes. Thanks a lot for the insight!! 😊
