Dimash is a very good craft man whereas Koji is THE artist. They belong to different categories.

@@aran-uq8ik totally not true. He is too new to be considered that. And he is not talented enough to be a world class songwriter. At least not now. He has a wide vocal range. Many singers out there in the world also have that wider vocal range like him. Period.

"Ikanaide" has two meanings in Japan, "please don't go" and "please don't die." I am sure that It means the latter in this song, because it says "I am glad that I can touch you being still warm." It also says "Your spirit will become memory someday somewhere." I think it's very sad song. Dimash is an amazing singer who can control his voice perfectly, but I think Koji Tamaki sings this song from the bottom of his heart. I love both singers!
@fumin82 жыл бұрын
@MrBlueGull In this case "Ikanaide 行かないで" means "please don't go" or "please don't leave". There is another letter "逝かないで" for "please don't die" with the same pronunciation. This was the theme song of Japanese TV drama ''さよなら李香蘭 Sayonara Ri Kōran '' for about 4 hours in 1989. 李香蘭 Lǐ Xiānglán (in Chinese), Ri Kōran (in Japanese pronunciation) was the former name till the end of the World War Ⅱ of the very famous Japanese singer and actress, 山口淑子 Yoshiko Yamaguchi (Shirley Yamaguchi in USA). She was born in China 1920 to Japanese parents and died in Tokyo 2014. There was quite a sad story for her between her beloved two home countries, Japan and China. This song's words are very simple but express Ri Kōran's emotions full of sadness and pain toward leaving from her beloved China, Chinese people and Ri Kōran herself in 1946.

They are both great, but Koji has the heart of one who saw that time and knows what went on after the war. I can also relate to this song. For 39 years I've carried my Autumn Strong in my wallet. I see her every time I open my wallet, and it's beginning to fade, every time I try to discard it, I can't. I have searched and tried to have others find her just so that I can say how sorry I am to have let her slip through my heart. Whenever I feel there is no chance of finding her. I play this song, if only to hold my thoughts of her in my heart and memories of our time we spent together.

You can feel the depth of pain just from listening to Koji's voice without even the need to understand the lyrics. He is really in a league of his own. He released this song in 1989 when he was 31 years old.

If Dimash's song is an oil painting with overlapping colors, Koji Tamaki's song is like an ink painting. I am deeply impressed by Dimash's song, and deeply impressed by Koji Tamaki's song.

Comparing it to painting, Dimash is pure realism at very high level. Koji Tamaki is surrealism and abstract at very high level. Putting in emotion requires way more complex skills. If you ever knew anything about classical music, and how they value expression, you'll understand.

Never heard of this guy. Been following Dimash since 2017. Never Listen to any other music outside my country. (USA) except Spanish. Washum Dimash saying introduce me to other singers all around the world and how great they are. For a 27 year old young man there was no other singer that I heard in my lifetime ,and I am 60 years old that could sing like him. He makes cover song his own. It’s a shame the skill he have so many people put him down. All his music is emotional. When he gets to be 70 years old he would probably say even better. Don’t put him down because of the talent he have that nobody else has.

I personally believe that Dimash is the best singer on the planet, by far, his capability is unmatched and he learned this song in a really short amount of time. But the way Koji expresses this song, the pain behind the words is something that only comes with painful experience. DImash blows your mind, Koji breaks your heart. Both are transcendent.

People are so strange sometimes. It turns out that if a singer has good technique and excellent skills, then his emotionality suffers?) No, no and no. These two aspects are by no means mutually exclusive. Dimash perfectly conveys emotions, but at the same time demonstrates good technique.

Respectfully disagree. Hundreds of people are saying the samething, so there might be something there that you might be missing. (And that's ok, I miss things all the time as well). I encourage you to take a deeper look. There is a nuance idea present, that is hard to articulate but easily felt. Dimash is singing from 10000 hours of rehearsal, and you can clearly see the fruits of his labor. But my God Koji!...he not only reaches an unattainable level of mastery, but also talks directly to your soul. This is a lifetime of experience on full display. Just incredible! Koji is on another level fffoooorrr sure.

Actually, I didn't really understand your message. I hope you meant well. It is quite silly to compare them. There are two absolutely amazing singers with different life experience. One is old and wise, another is just a boy who is starting his career. (2017!). I have a great respect for Dimash for choosing this particular song. The choice of music he sings speaks out for itself. As for today, Dimash is probably the only singer I can listen to for hours and hours. Respect other great singers as well, but still...
