There is a true sad story behind this song " daybreak". In October of 1999, the young couple held their hands high to keep up their two-year-old son in a cable car accident. They exhausted their last strength of life to make their son survive the crash. A famous singer in China heard of the news and was touched by the love of his parents. She found ways to adopt the child. She made this song for the child to memorize his great parents ,and she believes that they want their son to be strong and to cherish the value of life in the world even without their accompany any more.

You dears have come a long way in appreciating Dimash and his singing. I cannot believe someone would say he is showing off. Even if he were to be, which he was not, he is entitled because he can do it. BUT in this song, (even though he was told not to) the high notes came out of pure emotion. P.S. Cry all you want. I personally think it is a sign of strength when you can cry in front of anyone else and not let it bother you. Hold up the sobs though. lol God Bless the two of you. I love you both.

He had lost his voice completely just a couple of days before the show. Even the morning of the show, he still couldn't talk, and had to get a throat injection just to loosen up the muscles enough to get any sound out. Some of the other contestants tried to help with Chinese herbs to ease his throat as well. He didn't want to let the fans down, so on stage he ignored the pain and kept smiling so the audience wouldn't know, and he forced his voice as much as he could in order to give a good performance. It wasn't until he was completely out of view of the audience in the back halls of the building that he dropped the smiles grabbing his throat in severe pain. He's a true professional, always giving his audience his best efforts. Even more daring, the song was written and performed by a previous winner of the competition, so you can imagine the pressure to do the song justice... but, being Dimash, he gave it a very heartfelt tribute in his performance. SONG BACKGROUND: In 1999, a cable car accident took the lives of 14 tourists in China. One couple lifted their son out of the falling cable car to safety. They didn't survive the accident. Han Hong wrote "Daybreak" to commemorate the couple's ultimate sacrifice for their child. She later adopted the orphan.

despite all of the warnings he still did the high notes and afterwards off stage fell too the floor clutching his throat it was pretty heartbreaking but he really felt the need too sing the only way he knew how .. good reaction though ladies

Thank you girls. His Bastau concert rendition of this song was incredible...the competition is over, his vocal cords were rested, he is visibly more relaxed and the production superb. Check it out sometime. I am sorry for your loss - no matter what others may say, the hurt of loss never goes away...one just learns to coexist with it until it becomes, not some pain to be feared, but a dear companion, wondrous memories of beautiful times and a constant remembrance that we will connect again someday. Dimash is so good at communicating emotion, I cried whenever I heard this before I knew what the words meant. More so now that I know what he is saying. I hope you feel better soon and I am sorry for your loss. My mom is 94 and in the hospital. BUT listen to the song - the end has hope, the sun does rise. ...PS, I think Dimash used his own physical pain to add to the emotion of the song. He is an artist.

If anyone can watch his performance and NOT feel the emotions, there is something wrong with them. If you were to watch it to the very end, you see that Dimash did not finish this song as he usually does. I feel his high notes, in all of his sad songs, as crying. He did lose his voice the day before the performance But you can' just up and change what you have been rehearsing all week, He was not well but pushed through it like most professionals do.
