This is a traditional Kazakh folk song which Dimash gave a jazz update & I love it! The instrument is a Kazakh dombra which Dimash plays really well. I'm surprised you haven't seen him playing it already. You will have to react to some live concert footage, as he plays it quite often in his concerts. Thanks so much. All videos on Dimash’s KZbin channel have subtitles. He is playing dombra at the beginning. This is actually a very old song dating back to very early 1900s. A Russian girl Maria fell in love with a Kazakh guy despite her family’s objections. He had curly hair, so his nickname was Dudar. This song tells the story of a love that transcends national and religious boundaries.

Exactly. This was an old folk song that Dimash started in the traditional Kazakh way with his soulful yet powerful voice accompanying by the dombra. Then Dimash totally jazzed it up and brought the song to the 21st century with his cool and funky arrangements and threw in his creative improvisation with his vocal runs. Did you catch his skipping high notes? Those were his voice. Not from the keyboard. So cool ! 😊❤

Инструмент на котором играет Димаш называется ( Домбра ) это национальный казахский инструмент имеющий 2 струны. Он очень хорошо передает дух степей Казахстана и топот копыт лошадей и конечно же ветер. Ветер в Казахстане это как вода в Венеции,она просто есть и от этого никуда не деться...
