Dimash, Imo, inherited great DNA from his talented parents. But hard work and endless practice resulted in the Dimash we see today. He constantly pushes the envelope and continually strives for improvement. I'm a 72-year-old ex-drummer and have never experienced any talent like Dimash. He amazes me with each new project. Thanks for the reaction.

Dimash takes your mind and sends it into a different place. He does a song called Know. It is also in Russian when he sings the lyrics. Often he does not sing any lyrics at all and does it as a vocalize. Nothing but his voice and the music. I can assure you having been in the audience it is completely mesmerizing. No one moves. No one talks and I am not sure we were all breathing half the time. I saw the performance in New York but my favorite performance of Know is from Kiev. I hope you will consider doing a reaction to it. To see the difference you can always do Know from New Wave with lyrics (stunning) and then Know from Kiev as a vocalize. We do not mind if you do them all.

👉Dimash's deep and gentle voice... I melt away. What a wonderful song, wonderfully sung by Dimash (Russian language). Did you hold your breath? 🤣 The final run was 23 seconds with one breath. 👏👏👏 Dimash sings here as a guest on the New Wave 2018 (international competition). Igor Krutoy, the man in the white shirt at the end, a famous Russian composer, music titan and initiator of the New Wave had invited him. Now, both are a "Dreamteam" and work together from time to time. They are friends, have a father-son-relationship. ... and of course Dimash donates the many flowers to hospitals and retirement homes. The band that Dimash accompanies at this performance called A’Studio, who composed and performed “Sinful Passion” in 1998. The band is also from Kazakhstan (Dimash's homeland) and this Dimash performance has revived the song. *Original: A'STUDIO - Грешная страсть - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX-cl3utndOUla8 The glottal - stops is a throat singing technique called "bleating", “goat's trill” or „Trillo caprino/ little goat“ used by the indigenous peoples of the Far East. In Iran called this technique „tahrir“ In 17th-century Italy, 'trillo' referred to the so-called 'Monteverdi trill' or bleat, a tremolo-like repetition of a single pitch. Singing these trills was frowned upon. * Maryam Akhondy - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oXK6h5Wipql2iJI * Sainkho Namtchylak - kzbin.info/www/bejne/iYTUd4adhd-Wnrc * Diana Ankudinova - kzbin.info/www/bejne/e56wqYKsarKnr6c (Thanks to all Dears who helped to complete the information)

He is indescribable, He embodies human potential honed to perfection. From when I first heard him in February I thought he was an old soul, not ever having really understood or believed in the concept before. Someone who can make you feel love, passion, pain, sorrow, suffering and devastation so deeply with his voice alone must have eternal wisdom and experience to evoke such universal emotions in the listener. It's one thing to admire the beautiful voices of a Pavarotti or Bartoli as they reinterpret operatic characters from a long-dead composer. It's a totally different experience to hear Dimash lament about the betrayal of a falsely accused prisoner being told the lie that his wife had left him (Daididau), or the tale of conscription of non-ethnic Russians in WW1 (the Tsar's edict of 1916) and the fear of uprooting, fighting and uncertainty of a young Kazakh soldier (Samaltau). There is no one who so convincingly sings about such subjects, which repeat themselves ad infinitum. Indeed, given current actions by a wannabe tsar, the spectre of suppression, submission and conscription is alive and kicking. Dimash knows the history of his country and people, which is why he is such a patriot and always wishes his people well. But patriotism is a double-edged sword that can be wielded by dictators, democratic leaders and jokers alike, but when push comes to shove and war seems to be the "only solution", it's the young soldiers/child fighters that pay the bill. Even in "Omir" there is a sense of foreboding as he sings about his own short life so far. His knowing of the fleetingness of the above human sentiments is uncanny - whence old soul. Like MJ and FM, DQ is an authentic artist who knows that messages about love, peace and suffering need repeating. He does it masterfully and courageously. The themes of songs he chooses, be they covers or his own creations with or without Igor Krutoy, reveal all about Dimash. Thanks Alan for being under his spell! May be it takes the world to be dimashified for it to change.😵‍💫

For those who like information about Dimas' songs: Sinful Passion - The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. Moreover, in the final part he added, with an oriental technique (from the Kazakhstan region). The song was originally performed in 1998 and the band name is A'Studio (Kazakh pop music group based in Russia, "Alma-Ata Studio", Almaty city). The dead singer (who Dimash was a fan of) left the band in 2000 and passed away in 2015 and his name was Batyrkhan Shukenov. The lyrics are by the poetess Ilia Reznik together with Baigaly Serkebayev, who is the long-haired keyboardist, who we see in the video that accompanies Dimash. Hugs from Brazil! Of all of Dimash's songs; this one, and this version, is my 'top pick'. Of course he has phenomenal skill, but mostly it's about the stunning beauty of his voice. Even without the subtitles; Dimash knows how to take us on a journey and proves, over and again, that music truly is 'the universal language'. 😊 Dimash is singing this cover with the original Kazakh band: A-Studio, who first performed Sinful Passion back in 1998. Of course Dimash makes it truly his own, whilst honouring the original. The 'Trill' section that Dimash does, is actually a Traditional Kazakh Mourning vocalisation - to honour the passing of a loved one. He said later; he inserted this - Live and without notice to the band - as a mark of respect to the bands original Singer: Batyrkhan Shukenov, who passed away suddenly in 2015. [ Batyrkhan composed Sinful Passion with this same Pianist playing here; Baigali Serkebayev. ]

This was possibly the second performance I’d seen by dimash I was uninformed about his skills. I did go to Wikipedia to read his bio. At the end I thought the performance was the best by anyone ever in time and today. It was so good that no one could repeat it skill for skill, language, range, technique, lows, chest voice, belts, highs, the 24 second series of riffs, run, scales all in one breath. But not only that that he had outperformed himself not being able to repeat it. I was shocked. But as time went on I saw he was no one trick pony and that he did repeat the song and his skills got better in doing it again and he had even better works. “The King of Rock” “The King of Pop” “The Queen of Soul”, Freddy, Mariah, Whitney, couldn’t repeat it and most had abused their bodies and voices and had surgeries on their voices. Here up to this point and as far as I know dimash took know shortcuts. He paid his dues with his 3 hours a day training his voice, still does and pd dives for those lungs everyday. A magnificent person.m

Dimash is not in one box. Sometimes he is elegant, then again he whirls across the stage and shows the rhythm in his body. I get bored quickly, but Dimash is never boring on stage. He offers everything from pop, Kazakh folk, jazz arrangements to neo-classic and opera. And what an artist radiates is very important for me. Many people forget that. You have to see many performances of his to get an idea of his ability.
