(“Becoming a Poet” (Music/Lyrics: Ingrita Yu Zhen) is a song about an admirable, strong girl who is almost completely paralyzed and can only move one finger (SMA). Jenny Bao was born in 2001 and doctors thought she would only live to be 3-4 years old. But she defied this fate. She writes wonderful poems and even works as the cultural and art director of Jinqi Technology Group Co., Ltd. (Beijing).
Gong Linna is a Chinese fusion singer. Her style is one which combines the traditional "lightness" and "ch'i" of centuries-old melodies with new lyrics.

Thank you. This is such a beautiful duet between Dimash and Gong Linna. This is about a young girl, Jenny Bao, who has a tragic desease that left her with only the ability to move 1 finger. She has outlived expectations and she writes poetry. Her poetry is at the end. Very emotional and touching.

The song is a poem written by a paralyzed young lady who can move one thumb on one hand. She was born with a rare genetic disease and was not expected to live more than four years. She defied the odds and learned to type with her one thumb to write poetry to encourage others to be all they can be. Becoming A Poet, this poem, was set to music by Gong Linna and the ending voice who spoke the last words of the poem was the paralyzed young girl. She cannot breathe without a machine helping her so that must have been difficult to speak so long for this performance. This song was dedicated by Dimash and Gong Linna to all people with rare diseases.

I LOVE this duet! Dimash couldn’t handle the rap part (he says he can rap only in Kazakh), so Linna did it, and beautifully. Linna is recognized as one of the best singers in China. Dimash’s tone in this song is so pure, so deep and rich. Melts my heart.
