OMG - WOW, what can I say? So, So Good!

He was age 22 in this video. This is part of the Chinese sing off he participated in as a wildcard. Wildcard because he is Kazak not Chinese and only Chinese could win first place in I Am Singer. So, this is the very beginning of him being exposed to the world and not just Kazakhstan, Russia and Eukraine areas. He is current 27 and his vocal growth since this video is so phenomenal, I can hardly believe it and I have been listening to him for four+ years. Here, He only had a very small handfull of conversational English words. "Thank you very much" "I love you", things of that nature. Now he is beginning to be able to converse in English. He is still not completely sure how to place words as most foreign languages use word placement opposite from us and he is still learning all of that but can carry on a conversation in English. He is highly well read, highly educated as he is working on his Doctorate, very kind and honors others. He is a highly giving man though he will never speak of it, others have leaked out stories about him though, and his philanthropy is highly honorable.

Dimash elevates music to such a high level, that other music becomes disappointing. But hopefully, other musicians will begin to elevate their performances and skills to keep up. This was one year after the “Singer 2017” Competition. Dimash was asked to come back as a guest singer. He sang this song to say thank you to all his Chinese fans. At the end he says I love you in English Chinese and Kazakh. Lionel Richie claimed copy rights, and Dimash was forbidden to sing it ever again. May I suggest that you listen to Dimash’s rendition of “Show must go on” by Queen. Happy listening!

He is considered to be the best vocalist in the world and a master performer. He sings in 12 languages and plays many instruments. He is an exceptional singer and excels in martial arts. На счёт английского языка. В 2017 году Димаш не знал английского , кроме выражения : меня зовут Димаш. Об этом он сам рассказывал на шоу Shine super brother2 (2021 год). Все песни учил исключительно на слух.. да, он удивительный

Thank the heavens I do not have to sing in Kazakh or any other language. His pronunciation bothers my daughter as well but I am an introvert and do not like and for that matter do not trust words very much. So for me he could sing blah blah blah....he is a master of expressing his emotions through music...music is an universal language...so no words needed for me.

Then my ears adjusted because I always feel him before I see him & frankly- I would be sad if his accent disappeared completely.

Rants, all respect to you! Многие американцы всю жизнь говорят с большим акцентом и это естественно. Нельзя требовать от Димаша еще и идеальное знание английского языка, учитывая то, что в его стране английский даже не является вторым языком, и внутри страны почти не практикуется. Постарайтесь выучить не родной вам язык в идеале, чтобы говорить почти без акцента, и вы поймете, какой это труд, время и деньги, которые не у всех есть) и Вы правы, главное не то, как мы говорим, а то, что мы говорим! I am not enthusiastic about his MJ tributes either. I was happy when he stepped up to "another level" in his tributes, started to compose his own music with MJ style. Like 'Give me your love' is a funky song, good rhythm and instrumentation. 'Be with me' is musically so interesting mix, really good. But, this style overall is not for me. Too light, not so much depth that I usually find in his songs. But I can see, they are good musically and listen them sometimes for that.

I don't like his MJ tribute too. I'm an MJ fan, I don't know if it's because I'm too use to the original but I think that his voice doesn't go well with the songs and MJ just does it better. I also don't really like Give me your love, for me it's just a lower quality copy. I prefer the original. But I like his later songs Be with me and Fly Away. They have an MJ touch but have his own style different from an MJ song. For me it's way better !

Thank you for a sincere reaction! I love this performance, so heartfelt. Dimash made his own version as usual - a new original like you said. He kept the haunting feel of the original, even enriched it by adding Kazakh flute sybyzky. But he also gave the song more passion. It is not just melancholic longing but there is also something desperate - especially in those Eastern melismas. So passionate! The climax of the song, that long high note, is just sublime. Dimash and his arranger Erlan Bachurin beautifully brought their own cultural heritage to the song: that Kazakh flute, melismas and a throat singing in the backround (did you noticed that, btw?).

One of my favorites of Dimash. I love to watch reactions to this because I was the same way and it’s a joy to share how wonderful Dimash takes a song and makes it his own.
