NASA had vote globally who they should sent to the Mars and the Dears of the World won the votes to include Dimash songs to the capsule to the space ship into the Mars planet. The story behind "Ikanaide" : written metaphorically as a plea for a loved one not to leave, it actually describes the pain of an actress that had to go into exile. True story : Yoshiko Yamaguchi was born in China, hid her japanese heritage under a chinese name (Li Xiang Lan), became very famous. After WWII, her heritage was exposed, she was arrested, accused of being a spy, and sentenced to death. She was ultimately cleared of charges, but was advised to leave the country, as she risked being lynched. The song metaphorically describes her pain in separating from China and her chinese name. Original "Ikanaide" was performed by Koji Tamaki, and he sings it very breathy, so Dimash, when he did his cover, also used a lot of breathiness, as a tribute to the original : kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJuWkpVtmNqSaZI (Koji Tamaki`s original interpretation) Also, the soprano section that Dimash added is expressing the woman`s inner pain. There`s also a chinese version to this song, called "Autumn Strong/Late Autumn", (different lyrics - also metaphorically written as a separation of people in love, but telling the same story of the actress` pain) which Dimash performed during the chinese competition The Singer (2017), as the first chinese song he ever sang (worked like crazy in the week given to him, to get the pronunciation right). Now he performs the chinese version in all his concerts (sometimes combines them, half chinese, half japanese 😁) He got an award in Hong Kong for "Autumn Strong", and for "Ikanaide", a co-writer of the song said that Dimash`s cover was the best foreigner cover :) (pronunciation included :)) )

The song is about Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. She became famous in China. However, once the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy and she was deported back to Japan and didn't go back to China for many years, as it was forbidden at that time. Ms. Yamaguchi did return to China in her later years as the Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister of Environment. This song is saying goodbye to her Chinese name Li Xianglan. The song is a metaphor, as lyrics speak of how a person has to hide what feels inside.

The Melody of Ikanaide is actually from one of his previous songs - I believe it's 'Autumn Strong' - which was written by a Japanese composer Koji Tamaki - for/about a Japanese woman who, as an actress, had to hide her heritage and sang under the name of Li Xiang Lan
