This is a joke I make, he sings as if “ step to my level “ to male and female vocalists! 🤣🤣🤣 but he is so commanding the stage and his charisma is so strong. Jack of all trades, masters them all is him. He is the real ultimate vocalist. Every song from him is insanely vocal demanding too. I don’t know how he can sing them all at his concerts for 2-3 hours with dancing and such too. Each song from him is a murder song for other vocalists to cover/ sing . What do we do with this? We listen, wonder, and love the sounds we hear. Just a note…his Mother was asked what she thought of Dimash on stage. Her reply was, “He becomes another person”. Off stage, he’s funny, sweet, so unimpressed with himself and very endearing. I’m a 77 year old grandmother. I would adopt him if I could. His fans are from teens to me and older. Other coaches have said he’s a once in a lifetime talent. I’m so happy to be alive to see this wonderful young man. I think there is much more to see and hear. Bev

I would really like to introduce Ikanaide! Beautiful Japanese song by Kōji Tamaki that Dimash sang in the studio during corona time for the Tokyo Jazz festival. Translation is "Please don't go". Doris, it wasn't written by Dimash. In addition to be a singer, Dimash has composed some songs but the author of this composition is Igor Krutoy.

A good example is when Igor announced that Dimash had asked him to write Ave Maria for him. As we know, Dimash sang a lyric-less interpretation of Ave Maria. Igor wrote the music for this new composition.

The song Olympico (which became known as Ogni Pietra) was composed by maestro Igor Krutoy, with Italian lyrics by Russian poet Lilia Vinogradova and arrangements by Erlan Bekchurin. It was composed specifically for Dimash for the 2019 European Olympic Games. With this song Dimash won, on December 5, 2019, the Victoria award (Russian equivalent of the Grammy) for best singer of the year, in the classical genre ("Best Vocalist in Classical") Music").

Thank you, William. Can you imagine how liberating (and terrifying!) it must be for a great composer to write for Dimash's voice? You asked, what do you do with someone like that? The answer, it seems, is that Dimash will more often plan to compose his own music. A few years ago, he said that he knew he must study much more to do what he imagines---he wants symphonies, sonatas. A few days ago, I heard his 3-years-in-the-making composition, performed live. It's not yet publicly released, but it will be very soon. It broke me, and I've yet to recover. Two words you used: exotic and supernatural. Yes, for starters. I love your reactions to our Dimash! I'm off to Kazakhstan on Saturday 17th Sept from the UK to see him in concert in his homeland on 23 September, it's going to be epic! I think you would like 'Ikanaide' which he sings in Japanese, Tokyo Jazz festival 2021 he sang the same song in the I'm a Singer competition in Chinese and which is called Autumn Strong. His mother was an opera singer. His father was also a professional singer. The whole family was singing while he was in the womb. I've recently been told (I've yet to confirm this but it sounds somewhat plausible given things I've seen him say in interviews, eg his answer to the question when he first decided he would be a singer was "When I was 1 or 2 years old") that he reached out when he saw his parents handle cassette tapes (that he'd presumably seen them insert into a player to make sounds he adored and then remove them), so they would give him a cassette to hold. Then, as he drifted off to sleep, and they tried to remove the tape from his little hand, he would make a baby objection sound and hold on to it firmly. Just imagine being so into singing, especially emotional operatic singing, before speaking. And then he never let up. He sang for hours a day, diligently practicing, right from the cradle on. He became the youngest student ever at a top music academy at the age of 5. And it wasn't just singing but musical creativity he was into. He won a national competition playing piano at age six. There's no point in any adult trying to match Dimash in his specifics, but there is every point in staying on exactly the same path -- keep practicing, keep learning, keep having fun and sharing whatever gifts we have, lighting up the world in our own way, because that is the path to ecstatic feelings and they aren't relative experiences but absolute experiences. That transcendence you felt? You know it's surrender to the sublime. It's there as we sing, any of us, if we surrender, and it just gets even better the more we surrender to the cycle of joy, love, practice, training, musical creativity, and more joy, love, practice, training, musical creativity, and more joy, love, practice, training, musical creativity, tons of it, never letting up because it lights up our entire beings. Another vocal coach commentator made the point that, since there aren’t many songs out there that require a 3-4 octave range to sing, let alone the full range of Dimash, that Dimash needs someone like Igor Krutoy to compose songs for him that allow Dimash to showcase his incredible talent and artistry. You nailed it, Dimash is a Fusion Artist, and is someone completely new and fresh. I too feel honored to have lived long enough to have witnessed his talents.

Ikanaide - a Japanese song will definitely blow you away again with its subtlety. It's probably the best example of his ability to just skid on the edge between breath and stable tone. There is so much too discover, every song brings something new with Dimash. I would definitely recommend to listen to his Kazakh songs as Dimash is adorably proud of his heritage and tries whenever he is able to introduce his culture to the world. Qaragym Ay a song he performed for his teacher who passed away due Covid. Qairan Elim an original song he released during the pandemic. Daididau at his Bastau concert a poem turned into a traditional Kazakh song, his own composition Unforgettable Day (at Gakku as it has a surprise)... His heritage is a huge part of who he is as a person and his Kazakh songs are maybe a little less "flashy" but obviously close to his heart.

The author Igor Krutoy tell that he wrote an “opera” to Dimash for Olimpic Russian Games, and is difficult piece for to sing (for two opera singers, baritone and soprano) and is in Italian......Dimash is trained opera singer and He has classical vocal Technique and do it wonderfully!..Last perfect note is a high E6 for 7 seconds....for that reason I like Dimash! Dimash has been classically trained since the age of 5. He still uses a voice coach. He says that you can’t really hear your own voice. You need someone else to listen to how you since. “ Olympico was written and perform for the European Games in 2020. Dimash has perfect pitch which was discovered when he was 5. Dimash’s voice also did not change when he was a teen like most boys. He kept his high notes. His mother is an opera singer. The whole family sings. 😊

Igor Krutoy, the renowned Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and promoter, came out of retirement after witnessing Dimash's 2018 guest performance of "Sinful Passion" at the New Wave competition. They have frequently corroborated on projects ever since. He composed this song for Dimash to perform at the opening of the 2nd European Games in Minsk, Belarus, on June 21, 2019. "Olimpico," or "Ogni Pietra," was performed in Italian by Dimash. Ogni means "every, each, or all," and Pietra means "stone or rock." The song is essentially an address to the athletes, exhorting them to do their best in competition, and urging them to believe in themselves.

Yes. He's amazing. It sounds completely over the top to say 'this is the best vocalist on the planet'. Probably the best, not just in this generation, nor the past 100 years - but the best this planet has ever heard! And then you listen to him, and listen some more... and realise YES! It's true. One Italian opera singer immediately teared up and said; 'Not since the time of Farinelli... has there been an exceptional voice like this. A voice that will draw exceptional composers to want to write exceptional pieces FOR this voice. ( Which is what we saw with Igor Krutoy coming out of retirement to work with Dimash.) I say 'work with' because Dimash is not a passive recipient in this creative process. He's been songwriting since childhood and has also studied composition at PHD Level. He sent the original tape of his ideas of how he wanted to present his 'Ave Maria' for Igor to flesh out, and it was also Dimash's idea to incorporate the unique and hauntingly powerful sound of the Kazakh ancient 2 stringed Kobyz into the body of 'Stranger'. {As for comparisons; the idea of sending Dimash back to Farinelli's time - in the Tardis - and having them sing together! - does excite the imagination! But that might be cruel to Farinelli as he couldn't do what Dimash can! 😵‍💫😆} In any case there is no-one to compare with Dimash and he competes against no-one but himself. When we put aside any ideas of competition what is left is simply awe amazement and inspiration. As you say; this level of perfection and sheer beauty starts to approach a religious experience Professional vocalists and coaches are coming out and saying things like; " I'm just grateful to be alive in 'The Time of Dimash'! Others are saying he's a game changer - is ushering in a new era. That from now on we will now be referring to the use of the human voice pre or post Dimash. Does that sound OTT? The more we listen the less we think so. Plus - he keeps getting better! Prepare for more shocks. 😆 BTW - Did you notice he was repeatedly touching his ear pieces during this performance? He was trying to indicate to the sound engineers that he was getting nothing through these monitors. He couldn't hear the backing orchestra nor choir which makes this performance - live and in front of this massive crowd - an additional challenge and even greater accomplishment.

I was watching reactions to Olímpico, and this one appears, for me this Krutoy masterpiece is like an analogy to a duet between Zeus and Hera encouraging athletes in ancient Greece. It occurred to me while watching Dimash for the first time doing those magical transitions from tenor to soprano and back again. Dimash Qudaibergen won the Victoria Award for the best classical singer in Russia in 2019 with this song beating established baritones and sopranos who had sung that year incredibly. He also won, along with another young singer I think a rapper, the shared award for "Discovery of the Year". By the way, on that occasion Dimash Qudaibergen dethroned the great soprano Anna Netrebko by winning "Vocalist of the year in classical music". She achieved what seemed impossible: overtaking the Austro-Russian opera diva who for three consecutive years had been recognized as the best in this category. Among the nominees was also Aída Garifullina.

That’s the word, HONOURED! I have followed the rise and rise of this young man for the past 5 years and am 80 in a couple of months. In all my years I have never ever heard a voice like Dimash’s.
