The story behind the song is so emotional. Gloria Wu has a YT channel that shows the story before the song, but in a nutshell, a Chinese man is singing this to a famous actress there, and during WW2 it was found out she was actually Japanese and she was sent back to Japan, and they never saw each other again! So Dimash interpretting it as if it happened to him! Thanks for your reaction! His songs make me speechless no matter how many times I watch them!

Dimash sings this same melody with slightly different words, in mandarin, called Autumn Strong. He performed it in Kiev before the war in the Ukraine. It has another beautiful ending, different from Ikenaide. He performed that song first on I am Singer 2017. A reactor called Gloria Wu tells the back story to the song.

Dear Angie, I hope you read the story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi as I recommended. According to the writer of the Lyrics, Dimash is the only non Japanese singer who could capture the different intonations of the word “Ikanaide”. My next recommendation is, Love is like a Dream. Look for the video where he is with Igor Krutoy, the composer, at the piano and Dimash wears a burgundy suit. The song is in Russian and you need to activate the subtitles. The lyrics of this song are the most beautiful love poem. Take care and remember that you are loved. ❤️☮️

This version "Ikanaide" (行かないで) ) is the original, from 1989, composed by Koji Tamaki (famous Japanese singer, born in 1958) with lyrics by Goro Matsui. The version "Autumn Strong" (Late Autumn), sung in Chinese, uses the same song, but has another lyrics (Yaqui Cheung, from 1993) and another theme: It talks about the Japanese actress Yoshiko Yamagushi, very dear to the Chinese, who was deported when they discovered her Japanese origin (his real name was Li Xiang Lan and we're talking about World War II, where Japan was China's enemy) and never returned to China. In the original version, the lyrics are more intimate, sentimental and more recognized worldwide. It means: "Please don't go!". For those who want to know the original work, just check this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJuWkpVtmNqSaZI

LYRICS IN BOTH SONGS 🎶 ARE EVERYTHING🎶 Autumn Strong 🇨🇳 & lkanaide 🇯🇵 There’s a historic backstory 🥺China WWII Japan😢💙 The “Autumn Strong” performance of Dimash in China’s “I’m a singer” competition. He learned Chinese in a week 🇨🇳 Now he’s learned Japanese & sings the original version for Japan 🇯🇵 The JAZZ FESTIVAL was during LOCKDOWN 😯 This puts his language count at 13 at the time of this recording 💿 His HONOR is showing again‼️🤗 DIMASH - AUTUMN STRONG “BACKSTORY” 👀 🇨🇳 with subtitles kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIm0ZmuLYqqXmsk DIMASH - IKANAIDE 🇯🇵 with subtitles kzbin.info/www/bejne/bp6wXpWmarV1aZY KOJI TAMAKI - IKANAIDE ORIGINAL SONG 🇯🇵 with subtitles kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJuWkpVtmNqSaZI I love how he’s blended the 🇯🇵 & 🇨🇳 songs together with the warble in the beginning’s, and the vocalizing “Her” at the ending’s 🥺 The song writer 🎼 praised Dimash on his getting the “Ah’s” 🎶 so perfectly to what he intended they should convey in each phase👌🎤 Well It Is Dimash‼️🤣😂💦 I also watched a Japanese reactor comment that the 🇯🇵 language is usually pronounced wrong with a hard consonant sound of most western speakers. He said that it’s different and should be weaker to get it right. He was so impressed with Dimash getting the enunciation correct ❤️🇯🇵 Well It Is Dimash‼️🤣😂💦 ❤️2U&ALLU❤️🦌🦌💫🌎🕊️🇺🇸

Dimash- Olimpico kzbin.info/www/bejne/fampnmOdoriNmLMsi=YDTzMcUhOmXfWFOU. This is the opening of the Universiade in Kazan in 2019. I know many fans are more fond of the version from the concert in Almaty, but here you can see the subtitles, and this is important because the lyrics are wonderful. Composer Igor Krutoy wrote it specifically for Dimash with his vocal range.
@elenakiselev84406 ай бұрын
You don't need subtitles with Dimash to feel the vibe and message of the song. Anyway the lyrics can be read before and after the performance. The version in Kazan does not convey at all the dynamics of the composition and the interaction between the artist and the audience. The best is version in Arnau 2019 from Igor Krutoy channel. 👉 Dimash sang Ikanaide (live and for the first time in Japanese) on the Tokyo Jazz Festival in 2021(in his studio). Because of the pandemic, the annual Tokyo Jazz Festival took place online again. Filmmakers verify that the videos have not been edited and manipulated, so the singer sings live. In 2020 Dimash also participated in the famous annual Tokyo Online Festival with 2 songs: * S.O.S. - kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZWuinelprB_hpo * Samaltau - kzbin.info/www/bejne/mXbcfayBjJKajbs The original song Ikanaide was composed in 1989 by Koji Tamaki (*1958) singer and songwriter, the lyrics come from one of his lyricists Goro Matsui. In the same year, the song was used as the theme song for a Chinese-Japanese television series Farewell, Lixianglan, about the Japanese woman Yoshiko Yamaguchi (*1920 - † 2014) a Chinese-born Japanese actress during World War II. She hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan and became famous in China. However, when the war was over and she revealed her identity, she was accused of being a spy. She was deported to Japan and longed for China. Ms. Yamaguchi did not return to China until many years as deputy environment minister in the Japanese parliament. The song is a metaphor as the lyrics speak of how a person should hide what they are feeling. Koji Tamaki sent a wonderful message to Dimash, thanking him, and praising him for singing his song in Japanese. Vbloggers, they reacted to the original by Koji Tamaki, they are mesmerized and can't stop listening to Koji Tamaki. He wrote many wonderful melodies - you should check it out: Koji Tamaki 2021, Ikanaide - kzbin.info/www/bejne/haHKn4BogsiWebM Dimash's Japan Fan Club asked the famous Japanese author of lyrics of 'Ikanaide' Goro Matsui about his emotions at Dimash performance. It's one of his favorite songs: "… I heard Dimash singing "Ikanaide" by accident. The first thing that impressed me was his crystal clear tone and expressive voice. I heard other Asian artists perform the song many times, but despite their magnificent vocal skills, none seemed to capture the true meaning of the original lyrics. In the chorus of the song, the line "Ah, Ikanaide" is repeated several times. And although these are the same words, each line has a different meaning. And it seems to me that Dimash felt it. " In 1993, Jacky Cheung (*1961, singer and actor in Hongkong) adapted the song into Chinese Mandarin, calling it Late Autumn: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqWwY3ipnK13aa8 The Chinese (Autuumn Strong) and Japanese (Ikanaide/ Please, Don’t Go) versions have completely different lyrics and meanings… and of course Dimash sings both very differently: - The Chinese version shows the image of leaves dancing in the autumn wind as a metaphor for the passage of time, a farewell and change...sad but inevitable and irrevocable - The Japanese version does not want to accept the loss of a loved one, is full of pain, begs, suffers... heartbreaking. I'm totally mesmerized by how sensitively Dimash differentiates and conveys to the listener the feelings of sadness and loneliness in the Chinese version and loss and pain in the Japanese version. Even his whispers and his breath are music... it breaks my heart and the tears flow... and at the end everyone suddenly holds their breath, we hear Dimash breathing, then a deep and comforting hum. I've never heard anything like that from other singers in my entire life. Only Dimash can do that. This is true mastery. * The most famous interpretation In China (first performance at the Singer 2017) was that of Dimash Qudaibergen and it was his first time to sing in Chinese mandarin: Autuumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZ7MY5aMns-Xg9E This song brought Dimash the 'Best Foreign Singer' award at the Golden Melody Award 2017 (equivalent to the Grammy) in Hong Kong. * Great performance (Chinese version) of Dimash from Kiev 11.03.2020, the last concert before Corona paralyzed everything: Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/amSaenipea6NnKc * Other version by Dimash: In Moscow on March, 2019 - Autumn Strong - kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5bag2t4pMhlZ6s (Thanks to all Dears who helped to complete the information)
