Dimash said that his voice never went through the change that most teen boys go through so he can still hit the high notes that he has sang all his life. His Mother is a famous soprano in a national opera company in their home country. His Grandmother realized when he was 3 y/o that he was a natural at singing & got him a singing coach. At the time of these performances, he had been singing for over 20 years. He didn't become this talented sitting on his butt playing video games. He has worked HARD!!! He calls his fans his Dears because they are dear to his heart!!! ♥️ ❤️ ♥️

Dimash can sing anything, any genre, any language, any octave(s)! Dimash's father surprised (came from Kazakhstan) him after this performance. Dimash said that he probably wouldn't have been so 'cheeky' if he had known! Thank you, you are at the beginning of your Dimash journey. We have all felt like you! And the thing is, it doesn't matter how many songs you hear/see him perform, you will ALWAYS be surprised and amazed each and every time. The answer to your question of 'how' is that he has literally been singing/training/performing each and every single day of his life. He sings all the time. He never stops singing! :D He is the best singer on the planet!

Now here we are 4 years later, you're having fun and we're having fun watching you. I'm glad that you never lose track of how much work Dimash has done to make it look so easy that we can just be delighted by him and laugh in amazement. I can't wait until the next one, thanks!

Dimash is Kazak and was invited to perform on The Singer in China, which is a show for professionals. Dimas was invited as the wild card. He was the youngest to ever perform on Singer. He was 22 when he did SOS and Opera 2, and the Show Must Go On, soon to be 23. On Opera 2 Dimash's Dad flew up to give him support. He stayed hidden in the audience till the end. You can see exactly when Dimash spots him. Without hesitation except to thank the Maestro, he heads down to greet his Dad. Except for his interpreter, Dimash did not understand anyone, was in a foreign land, and at essence on his own. SOS was his first song and the next week he sang his second. There are 14 performances in all on Singer. I can remember being heartbroken when Singer ended. But Dimash had taken a contract with China the biggest incentive being his own new recording studio. Dimash was already famous in China so they wasted no time in promoting him and did a good job that first year. Right after Singer, however, Dimash did his first concert in his home country and his hometown. People came from all over the world to see Dimash perform live, in the flesh. That concert, BASTAU, is fabulous. It was voted Concert of the Year. My favorite song was Daybreak, in which he was sick and did not give it enough justice (he thought)on Singer. BOY or BOY did he here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJy9hX2ggdR3bJY Research the song first. It is based on a true story and you will understand the emotion Dimash put into it once you know the story. Welcome to the world of Dimash. He gets better and better and nothing is the same. Dimash started training at the age of 4 and has never stopped.

OOOO!! I Loved seeing Dimash back stage just before being announced! THAT WAS SO COOL! Before he turns on that Super human thing :) this is SO COOL...that MAN IN THE AUDIENCE DOING THE "SHHH" THING WITH HIS FINGER TO HIS MOUTH, IS DMASH'S DAD - he flew in to surprise Dimash!! Dimash DOES NOT know he is in the audience UNTIL HE SPOTS HIM WHILE TAKING HIS BOW!!! HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A LOVE LIKE THAT BETWEEN A FATHER AND A SON? I NEVER NEVER HAVE, NOT IN MY LIFE OR IN ANYONE ELSES. THEY REALLY HAVE A VERY SPECIAL LOVING CONNECTION!! SO BEAUTIFUL TO SEE! By the way there is this GREAT interview with his VOICE teacher on KZbin. He said that at one point he was worried because Dimash was "addicted" to Falsetto singing. The teacher was NOT!!! happy about it as it's not academically acceptable and this was some famous music academy that his Grandmother first brought him to at age 5. Dimash was the youngest student ever accepted at age 5. So the teacher made known to Dimash his concern about his "addiction" to Falsetto singing. The teacher laughs as he tells the story that as he approached school each day he could hear Dimash singing loud and at FULL VOICE in Falsetto in the upstairs of the school "but somehow he (Dimash) could ALWAYS sense my arrival, and Dimash would stop just before I entered the school ...silence!....I have always wanted to ask him how he knew I was coming". SO DIMASH HAS BEEN BUILDING AND BUILDING AND WORKING AND WORKING HIS FALSETTO/HEAD VOICE TO BE JUST AS POWERFUL AND RANGE INCLUDING AS MOST MALE SINGERS SPEND TO DEVELOP THEIR CHEST VOICES. And so as I listened to this story I thought THIS IS SOMETHING THAT MOST male TRAINING SINGERS DON'T DO, WHICH IS SPEND A HUGE AMOUNT OF TIME DEVELOPING THEIR FALSETTO AND HEAD VOICE RANGE TO BE AS POWERFUL AND STAMINA STRONG AS THEIR CHEST AND MID RANGES.....FROM A YOUNG AGE!!!.....I BET BECAUSE HE TRAINED IT TO BE SO POWERFUL FROM SUCH A YOUNG AGE for such a LARGE part of his daily training THAT IS IN PART, IN ADDITION TO GENETICS, WHY HE CAN DO ALL THIS AMAZING STUFF.....TRAINING SERIOUSLY SINCE 5....HE HAS A FAMOUS DRAWING THAT HE DID AT 4 OF HIM ON STAGE WITH MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS VERY WELL DRAWN BY THE WAY....HE DREW THIS TO SHOW HIS PARENTS WHAT HE WANTED TO DO WITH HIS LIFE! (Parents are professional singers - Mom Opera, Dad Pop and music producer)..

Dimash was invited to sing at this show after he won a competition at the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus. They only thought he was going to last about 2 shows because I am Singer is a competition for Chinese professional singers. Dimash was the youngest person to ever compete and the first foreigner to do so. What they didn’t realize that Dimash showed up with a repertoire of songs they didn’t know about. Plus after he sang $.O.S. the Chinese people loved him so that they had to get guards for him. Dimash won the first day of the competition that went on for 4 months. Dimash was also the first person to sing that day and they all had to follow him. They all liked him, they called him, “ foreign little brother “. He came in second place but people say that he should have won. But they didn’t want a non-Chinese person to win. They invited him back the second year to perform. Dimash stayed in China almost 3 years. Performing all oover. He had a Chinese teacher and he said that what you guys call falsetto is not falsetto in Dimash, it is his natural voice. There is a video on you tube interviewing him. 😊

He is very very humble. At his concert in New York, he repeatedly talked about how it was his dream to perform on a big stage in New York and to share his culture and music with fans from around the world. He sang a traditional song Daididau and the sold out crowd at the Barclays tried their best to sing it with him in his language. He was so emotional but most endearing was that he thought nothing of getting on his knees and bowing to the audience as tears filled his eyes. He is so gracious, and so appreciative. Certainly something we do not see often. If you would be interested in seeing it, I can find the link. It is a fan cam, but a very very close and good one as it caught the tears and emotions, right down to his intake of breath, the way he repeated things just so he could stand and listen to the audience. The most touching moment of the entire night. 3 hours seemed like only 30 minutes.

I had this same reaction when I saw this performance. I was blown away. I am so addicted to his voice now. So now in my "end of year Spotify wrap up" I'm going to have Screemo Metal, Kpop, and Dimash. Lol. I don't think I have a main genre anymore thanks to reaction videos.

your face, haha, don't question, don't try to understand. Dimash was born with a gift, and a great, great amount of work from the age of 5, plus a family that always supports him, is the result. And he still asks, did I sing well?

"How" is the common denominator in all Dimash reaction videos. As a boy he sang the soprano parts. When his voice changed, he somehow managed to retain the high register. Dimash is tall, his larynx and his vocal cords are also longer than average. But training from the age of 5 must have helped a great deal. But let's not overanalyze. Just marvel and enjoy!

THE JOKE THAT DEARS CAME UP WITH: «ATTENTION! Listening to Dimash songs can cause the following symptoms: 1) mad delight; 2) culture shock; 3) goosebumps all over the body; 4) temporary stop breathing; 5) loss of speech; 6) tears from wide open eyes; 7) search for a fallen jaw on the floor; 8) frequent mentions of God's name; 9) persistent habituation to the voice, which you do not want to get rid of and the impossibility of continuing without Dimash's voice; 10) studying geography with Dimash concerts in different countries; 11) desire to learn Kazakh; 12) lack of sleep from the desire to see something else about Dimash and listen to a new or again old song; 13) unstoppable desire to get to a recital, and if once hit ... desire to follow your favorite artist over and over again; 14) daily watch and listen to the reactions of bloggers from around the world to The Dimas songs. As a side-effect - it is also possible to develop musical taste and obtain elementary musical knowledge! YOU'RE WARNED.

Dimash comes from a very tight-knit, loving family. Both his parents are professional singers and realized his talent and passion for music very early and supported it however they could. According to Kazakh tradition to "giving back a son", as the eldest he was raised by his grandparents (the whole family lives together) - he even calls is grandparents mum and dad too. He is very protective of his younger siblings. His sister Raushan has a beautiful voice too but decided for another carrier and his little brother Mansur is an accomplished dombra player and performed Dimash on his concerts.

He has that one in a million voice. I'm also a vocalist, a Mezzo-Soprano in my large choir, and we have some extremely talented and trained voices. A few, including my director, are trained opera singers. Nobody I know can do what Dimash does. His instrument is his voice and he has obviously had years of vocal training, but it's God given talent that he started with. I enjoy your reactions very much. I think your voice is good too.

In reference to Dimash hitting the high notes, you ask, "How does he do it?" Picture the tiny folds of his vocal cords as an elastic band, with each end looped on the index finger of each hand. Then move your hands apart. Except the vocal cords are less than 1/2 inch (12 mm) in length, and they're being stretched to less than 1 inch (24 mm) by many very tiny muscles. And Dimash trained with the dedication of an elite athlete since he was about four years old (he turned 27 on 24 May, he was 22 at the time of this performance) to strengthen and develop his control over those tiny muscles -- collectively and individually -- in his throat. And those muscles must be exercised every day. While he was doing all of that, he learned how to control the muscles in his diaphragm that regulate his breathing so a specific amount of air passes over those vocal cords at any given moment. From the age of seven through adulthood, Dimash swam three hours per day, every day, as part of his vocal training to build stamina, lung capacity, and breath control. He still swims one hour per day, no matter where he is. He also consumes no hot or cold drinks since the age of 16 to preserve his vocal cords. As if that wasn't enough, Dimash trained at university in classical and contemporary music, learned to sing in 12 languages, and can play seven instruments (at last count). As the cherry on the top of the cake, he also studied acting. That's what I call making a commitment. It ain't all footlights and applause.
