Dimash is a multinstrumentalist. He has a master in piano, he plays the drums, dombra and another instruments. About his english, this performance was at the singer, in 2017. At that time he doesn't speak english fluently. I think he started to learn it around those days and in this type of chinese competition he had to learn the songs in a very short period of time. Like the song Autum Strong, that he learned it in only two days and he sung it in chinese for the first time. That is really difficult. So he did the best he could and more. For english people maybe the accent is a thing but not for the rest who speak in another languages. By the way i talk spanish and i love how Dimash sings El Amor en Ti. Hi Bud, Great reaction but you said the only thing you can criticise is his pronunciation, you cant really do that you have to remember this was more than seven years ago when he could only speak Kazakh and Russian and had to learn the songs in whatever language they were in within the weeks rehearsal between episodes, all the other contestants just had to concentrate on their performance. Just worth remembering.

No, I agree with you. He is basically fluent in English now. Also, his beautiful vibrato needs to be either eliminated or put in check. Which some of this medley he did do. The point is he wanted to honor and give credit to one of his idols.

This was the Singer competition in 2017, where they were required to do a duet with someone, & there was not much chemistry between them. Dimash had very little English back then.

@@patriciacanadiansenior8130 Hi, They definitely weren't strangers to each other Laure was in fact his "boss" at that time when he was signed by Black Gold to promote him, she was on of the directors and also a swimmer herself at a major competition.👍😊

This was the final round of the 2017 Singer competition, and all the contestants had to perform a duet. Dimash’s singing partner here is Laure Shang, winner of an earlier Chinese singing contest. Dimash is a big fan of MJ’s music, but I have to agree, some of his pronunciation of the vocals here was a bit problematic! His English nowadays is much improved - he does interviews in it, which he was unable to do initially, but he’s not fluent (although he gets his points across regardless!). He speaks his native Kazakh, impeccable Russian, and some Chinese, which he says he finds very difficult .. Btw, he got to “nearly red belt level” in taekwando, is a multi-instrumentalist (mainly playing piano and dombra - and drums, for which he says he’s never had a lesson) and intends to complete his Doctorate in musicology this year, having already obtained a Master’s in composition ....

Dimash included a fantastic tribute in one of his concerts. Remember, here it was his 1st time away from home, no english no chinese. Umagine that. Each werk he had to learn the lyrics, create his arrangements for the way he wanted to the given song he had to sing etc. Id like to hear you trying to resight kazak poems or sing kazak songs a new one every week. Dont b so judgmental. What and how msny different la guages can u speak at ghe droo of a cap?
