I see this and remember my family watching him on tv in Kazakhstan he, us about 16, singing with a guitarist and drummer, my sister with a crush. Hee ! Americans living there, she and several of my friends went to uni with him, they can tell the stories ! 🤣 my Dad still calls him "rock n roll boy" to tease us. Oh Dimash how much you wanted this, how hard you worked for it. Eyes burning, a lump in my throat like a baseball.. I'm thrilled beyond measure.

Oddly, there is a tacit agreement, never spoken, that all of us who know him or the family never speak about their personal lives, aome things are just never said. It appears the entire country is the same. Everyone is respectful beyond belief, their culture, but I cannot imagine the nature of many things I know, things I don't know but could find out, this being done in America of tabloid fame ? No way. Anyway, I was at school in England and I got a call from a friend in Kazakhstan saying you know how COLD it is here now right ? No, I've forgotten. Ha ! I agreed to tutor a classmate for a test and the only time we could get together was 5 this morning ! She said, Im wearing duofolds (longjohns) 3 pairs of sweats, wool pants, same on top, scarf, Herters socks, boots, my Arctic parka and so blistery at 4:30 a.m. my eyelids were freezing to my eyeballs. Whoa ! says I, remembering Siberia, not it but darn close. Dark, blowing, she said I took a shortcut through the gym, heard a noise jumped into the air, squealed and almost peed my pants ! No one's in there that early and in this weather ? She said it was so dark in there she walked smack into a row of lockers, dank, wet, cold, she said I tiptoed around a corner and right into the pool area to see none other than Mr. Dimash with a pro cap on (in the damn dark practically her exact words) slipping into the water ! To do that "morning lap thing" ! Dear God, she said I could see my breath it was so cold in there. He's completely nutz ! Well.. not nuts.. a little crazy and giggled.. did you say anything ? Heck no, he was in The Dimash Zone, you know how he gets ( another giggle...from me! ) and I was late. I tiptoed out, he is scary dedicated she laughed, remember..? and went on to tattle on him, hilarious. Every morning, day in, day out, week after weekc, month.. in that pool. Unwavering. It's that kind of thing I was thinking with the baseball lump in my throat, tears in my eyes, him running out of stagewear in China and Miss Sveta mobilizing my parents, all of us, friends, neighbors, relatives on "The Great Clothing Chase and Expedition" for a 6'3"'guy at the last minute, who's going on tv in front of millions ! Jiminy. Well, friend, my very best to you and all those you cherish and 🎊 Happy New Year ! May it all be what you wish for.💥
