This is an absolute masterclass. I have watched this multiple times and taken copious notes. You are a true artisan. Thank you for filming all of this, cheers from North Carolina in the US!!

Hi, really a awesome job😮. Worth really watching the video. Want to know what black colour fabric are you using for the wood base plate which you fix with the acrylic panel.
@wickswirescaraudioandfabri7730 Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! It was a charcoal suede material, unfortunately I can't remember what it's called, and cannot find anywhere to get it. A synthetic Alcantara would be your closest bet without breaking the bank too much 🙂

Great work! What trick do you use to make the sub wires stay in the desired shape?
@wickswirescaraudioandfabri77302 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, just as simple as some welding wire taped to the wire haha 🙂

Nice build mate! You are pretty talented! What sort of contact adhesive do you recommend? Also does the vinyl have a foam backing on? I tried using some contact adhesive on straight vinyl and the glue seemed to show through?
@wickswirescaraudioandfabri77303 жыл бұрын
Thanks buddy muchly apreciated! We just use standard contact adhesive we get from our trim supplier, ill see if it has a brand on the drum tomorrow for you 🙂 Generally I don't used foam backed vinyl as it tends to take a lot of shape away from the part your trying to trim but you also don't want to use contact adhesive on the foam as it will crush and stay that shape... ask me how I know lol. I have had that issue of seeing the glue a few times and that can be worked in a couple of different ways. 1: HEAT THE GLUE UP FIRST!! This will thin the glue down a little and make it easier to spray out of the gun. 2: You need a decent quality gun and to make sure it's spraying evenly with the glue (not splotchy) 3: If you have already trimmed the panel and it looks splotchy, either put it in the sun for a little bit or heat it up gently with a heater or heat gun, then either by hand or with a soft sound deadening roller, work it through. I have used this in the past and it has worked, but it may not work every time. The biggest thing here is prep your gun and your glue and you shouldn't have an issue after 🙂 Hope this helps mate 😊

@@wickswirescaraudioandfabri7730 Thanks for the tips mate. Yeah if you could find the brand name or an alternative adhesive that'd be great. Haha im hearing ya , anyone whos played around with cars must have had to redo something at some stage. Might give it a crack later on in the year once i find some money or win lotto. Will give your methods a shot on a test piece. Cheers dude.

I commented to early. Man your work is off the charts! I want to learn how to do LED stuff so bad. Do you need relays or can you power them off an amp power block?
@wickswirescaraudioandfabri77303 жыл бұрын
The LED'S are really low current but I've just tapped into the constant power feed and put a manual toggle switch in to keep it simple 🙂
