It was sticky. Not that usual easy, Klokov's later beautifull clean and jerk. But many times proper russians does not work in yankee land well. It's like you would step on enemy side.

He weighed 105 Kg. This year (2023) at the European Championships18 year old Bulgarian, Karlos Nasar, Clean and Jerked 221 Kg weighing just 89 Kg. Obviously winning the 89 Kg class. AND - Nasar's total would have won the 96 kg class, the 102 Kg class AND the 109 Kg class (he would definitely have been lighter than Gasparyan!) Damn!! 😱😱 He deserves 4 Gold Medals! Literally NO ONE is in Nasar's class at this time.

@@dickpiano1802 because he was on less grams of gear, lower bodyweight and smaller upper body meaning he had more mobility and the technique was smoother
