Very good video. I have two 60" bioethanol fireplaces I may convert. Water line sounds like a must?

Technically, you can refill the open cassettes manually, but it's so much simpler and more enjoyable if you connect a water line, especially when you have multiple cassettes to refill. Optimyst is a great option to replace the bioethanol units, though. Good luck!

Can you address some of the reviews by customers? I have read they are malfunctioning after installation - no heat or flames not working

As with most things, when the Opti-myst units are installed properly, they work very well. The biggest issue with flames not working after installation is that the required air intake ventilation has been left out of the design, or the intake vents are too small. The Opti-myst units need to take air in from below in order to push mist out the top. This is in the owner's manual, but is often missed. We're not aware of any recurring issues with heaters on Opti-myst not functioning. Also, note that there is no heater included with the Opti-myst cassettes; the heater is a separate unit that is tethered to the base unit and hangs above the cassette. The remote for the cassette has a heater button on it but it will only function if there is a heater attached. This may be part of the confusion over heaters.

This is a very thorough and informative video. Thank you. I saw a photo of a modern dining room in which it looked as if the the chandelier above the table had been replaced by a firebox or cartridge that was about 6 feet long. It was suspended from the ceiling by rods on opposite ends of the unit, and I imagine that one of those rods contained the electrical source, and the cartridge was refilled manually. Hopefully this is in the works for commercial sale.

Hi, Marcus. I suspect that the suspended installation you saw was a custom set-up. These cassettes demand custom designs, and some of the pros who use them are very creative. You can bundle them together to make any length you want, in multiples of 20-inches and 40-inches. Thanks for sharing.

could you show us how the vents are set up?

We have a vent on both ends but you can have them on the front instead. Ours are basic and not visible. If yours are going to be visible, you will want to make them nicer.
