Having said that: I don't like to spend my time watching shorts - they feel shallow and are forgettable, also KZbin is extremely packed with them. In contrast: Videos like this video have less dense content, but feel way more natural. In your case, I think they allow for a more genuine feel for your personality which I personally like to see/shine. That being said: I think both formats have their own right to exist

Probably because xqc was the #1 chess streamer for a while even though he's rated sub 1000. A lot of GMs were not happy about that for obvious reasons and some went on to insult him.
