Ranjani was a leading Carnatic Vocalist hailing from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada Dist in Karnataka. She was a talented artist who rose to prominence at a very young age surprising the ardent lovers of music when a little child stood up to perform wonders in the celebrated areas of Carnatic Classical Music. Her parents - Prof. V Aravinda Hebbar and Smt. Vasanathalaxmi Hebbar initiated her into Carnatic music. Vidwan Sri Madhur P. Balasubrahmanyam of Udupi gave her excellent training in Carnatic vocal for about 8-10 years. Later under S Sowmya and the veteran Guru‘Pallavi Puli’ Sri Chenglepet Ranganathan at Chennai. Her concerts were well planned. The structure and the lay out of the concert would touch the hearts of connoisseur and a lay rasika alike.
She was laid to eternal rest after a year’s tumult of cancer on 9th June 2013 at the age of 30 years. Ranjani is remembered in Udupi by her parents and her well wishers through ‘Ranjani Memorial Trust’ established in 2014. The Trust is organizing educative concerts and helps those who promise to dedicate themselves for the cause of Indian classical music.

Oh Rama, You are the precious jewel of Sun dynasty. You are beautiful and compassionate.
Keep me always in your heart and protect me affectionately.Enough is this waiting for me.
Oh Rama, Siva worships you. If you are proud who else will protect me? You are immutable to external influence and you are unblemished. You lifted Govardhana mountain with your hand. You are everything to Thyagaraja.

I consider myself lucky to have visited their home in Udupi several years ago. Prof Hebbar, a humble genius,was a warm host. Later Ranjani had a concert in Trichy, and there was no chance God gave me to see her again. My sincere pranams to Aravind sir and Vasantha madam. Hope to see them in the near future.🙏
