It's not shortcut it's just you have used analogy of x^x derivative which is x^x(1+logx) here x will be sin function but we will multiply with derivative because we have let it as x

Not a^x , it can be solved by x^x formula, which is exactly what sir did. "a" is a constant but here there is no constant, instead there is x again.
