While spearfishing near Pula, a guy with dinhgy wanted to anchor on my buoy. I was so shocked, I was not even angry. I regret it now.

That's terrible 🤬 Dinghy skippers are the most dangerous cuz for the smaller ones you don't even need a licence which is like saying you can drive small car on the road without knowing the basic rules...terrible 😎

experienced that a lot in istria... but the same in rhodes greece this year... some guys with a rented boat where running me nearly over. they just saw me about 20m away. i just wanted to dive down and then drop my belt which was attached to the bouy... all the time the same... sometimes just a sorry... 3 times in 2 weeks max range 25m. even when i was waving with my gun to show them that i'm next to my bouy with my big diver flag... next to pula i would get hit if the boat didn't saw the big rock in the last meters...where i was sure nobody would head towards it.... 3m high above sea level...

Thats terrible man! 😵‍💫 Countries like Croatia and Greece should focus on high fines as an income from idiots like this instead of raising taxes on people who can barely afford living...

This is just sad that so many boaters have no clue about scuba buoys... a lot of them mistaken them with fish trap buoys and just speed right past them.

Yeah it's sad and dangerous AF for us man...When people with foreign skipper licenses come to Croatia they should make it so that they need to come to harbour master's office and read out local laws and regulations loud and then sign it at the bottom...Then they would get "permission" document stating that they read and agreed on the laws and responsibilities...The fines should also be increased to like 10k€ for such violation and everything would sort out quickly!

This summer here in Greece I actually spearfish a 5,5 meter type zodiac on purpose when he Ignored my signal buoy and came on top of me , the guy called the coastguard and he end up getting his license revoked

I'm a spearfishing guy and i wouldn't even give you the 100m. Of course i wouldn't come as close as 30m but if i see you on the surface i'm not going really out of my way. What would be the point, i know where you are

Hope you're not operating boat or diving with that mindset cuz it's gonna end bad for you or somebody else...What if there is another spearo or multiple scuba divers doing decompression ascending spreaded out across the area?? 100m is minimum required distance for a reason...Not to mention it's PROHIBITED to be planning your boat closer than 300m from the coast also for a good reason!

@@S.H.A.R.K.O.W if we are two divers, which should always be the case otherwise you can't blame anyone for not caring about your safety because you don't care about your own safety, each one must have a buoy (it's And yes i've had boat coming directly at me while i'm just near my buoy, boats going at great speed close to the shore,... But what i mean is, it's unreasonable to ask people to give 100 meters around the buoy. No one is going to do that (myself included), so i don't expect people to do it, so i don't dive alone and i don't yell at them except when they are an actual danger

@yd8104 That is some bull$hi#...One buoy is absolutely enough...with your logic if there is 30 scuba divers below each one needs his own buoy? Imagine the rope mess below the surface...100m is minimum distance and the law is clear on that period. I don't need a buddy for shallow dives like this one when my max dive depth is like 40m+

Entrance to Marina Punat is almost 2 miles away and Port of Krk about a mile...This was 100 meters from the shore and planning is prohibited in areas less than 300 meters from the shore...There are also two buoys that you cannot unsee unless you're high AF or drunk or both 😎 Damn right they are idiots!
