Divine and sublime. Bless this wonderful ensemble and their incomparable Director ….

John Rutter's music always reminds me of a peaceful Christmas eve . A softly burning log in the fireplace, the scent of evergreen boughs, and snow gently falling outside. Peace on Earth and goodwill towards men.

Brilliantly done, my father is a fan of the Kings College choirs over the decades, so I've heard it many time through the KCC records, but this one is fresh and so well done. The chamber orchestra is brilliant, the voices are rich.....very well done !

The acoustics are incredible! There is so little background noise that the group sounds as if it is recording in a sound studio. Magnificent!

Rutter music walks a fine line between pure beauty and pure schmaltz. This group kept it beautiful.

I know! A chorus I belonged to groaned at singing Rutter, but his pieces are crowd pleasers.

The Christmas season isn't complete until I play the few Ensemble Corund carols that are available on KZbin several times. Alas, there is no DVD available for this concert.

This choir is special.it is not like many choirs which tend to be high voice heavy.Wonderful. Please come to Scotland.

I woke up with this playing in my head. What an evil thing the Coronavirus has done, to silence choral music! Bar closings and live sport cancellations don't bother me. This does. Many years ago I even was fortunate enough to perform in a choral group at Boston's Symphony Hall. Recently I've been more of a spectator, seeing The Boston Camerata and others. The only two things I like about Christmas are the lights and the music. Now there are only recordings.

I don't appreciate Rutter because I feel he is very derivative and very commercial, but this group makes his work sound like a shining diamond. Makes the arrangement shine.
@debdessaso8 жыл бұрын
If "commercial and derivative" means understandable, than I hope Rutter continues to write carols for a long time. I much prefer to listen to songs with discernible and meaningful words than those "high church" numbers sung in Latin any day!

Truly? That's so interesting, I disagree and love him for that exact reason. :3

I'll be that guy. The men need to learn the rules of "White Tie" dress codes. those Tailcoats and/or waist coverings are dead wrong- half of them. Music is beautiful though

You're quite wrong. That is absolutely the correct dress for the men. A wonderful performance of one of my favourites.
