"A Herdeira" is a Portuguese telenovela produced in 2017. Set in Viana do Castelo, a small city in the north of Portugal, this storyline features Dinis (Pedro Granger), a lawyer fresh off a difficult divorce, who soon starts getting involved with Salvador (José Condessa), a fellow lawyer, who is still in the closet.

Honestly, I don't blame Dinis for wanting to tell a friend about what's bothering him. People need to be able to seek support and advice from their loved ones instead of bottling it in. And just from a safety standpoint, you should tell some loved ones you are involved with just to make sure you don't go missing or something. He just told the wrong person. I don't know if Candy is trying to compensate for betraying her friend and sleeping with his husband while he was in the hospital, but for whatever reason, she could not keep a secret. Dinis should honestly take some more advice from his guy friend that got him out of jail.

Dinis I don't know why your apologizing, you didn't tell your mom about Salvador, Candy did, I get that you both were wrong, but Salvador flying into a violent rage every time his sexuality is questioned is a red flag for me.

Dinis outed him so many times to many people, including Candy. It's one thing to question someone's personality in private, it's another to continually tell everyone that someone is gay when they're still closeted.

Dinis has outed him many times. Salvador has no reason to think he didn't tell his mother. Yeah, he got angry. Almost anyone who gets forcibly outed does. But dinis threw the first punch. Not Salvador (not making excuses, just seen lots of people call Salvador violent - when here, he's angry, then reactionary).

Part 26 Pour les gens ne comprenant pas l'anglais (résumé) Le lendemain, sortie de nos deux hommes de prison. Ils se voient au bureau la journée même. «Do you come to fight with me again?» Hey Salvador, you're the one who wanted it...remember! La discussion ne mène à rien, on est désolé, on s'excuse, et même Salvador admet lui-même avoir perdu la tête: «I lost my temper.» Finalement, ils ne s'entendent pas parce qu'il y a trop de quiproquo entre eux et trop de monde qui intervient malgré eux dans leur histoire. Ensuite, la discussion se dirige vers l'identité réelle du père de la fille de Stéphanie. On voit ici pour la première fois l'inquiétude de Dinis parce que cela met peut-être en cause Salvador. Il craint que Salvador soit vraiment le père et cela constituerait peut-être un problème pouvant changer la donne pour eux deux. Dinis est rassuré quand il apprend que Salvodor n'est pas le géniteur. Et le père fatiguant qui débarque encore au bureau pour jouer la carte du gars offensé dans son honneur, de la famille qui partage le même sang bref tout pour confiner Salvador dans le rôle traditionnel d'époux, de père qui continue la lignée. L'important, c'est de le diriger vers une vie «straight» au sens conventionnel du terme, peu importe ce qu'il en coûtera à Salvador, en autant que ce ne soit pas une vie gay pour son père cela va lui suffire. J'aime le segment du surlendemain où ils sont ensemble au bureau et qu'ils se parlent calmement pour la première fois et qu'ils sont d'accord sur l'influence et l'interférence trop grandes du père de Salvador sur sa vie personnelle. C'est le noeud du problème de Salvador, et de leur problème à eux deux. La surprise de Salvador sur le fait que Dinis ait une fille est compréhensible car les journaux ont dû rapporter que le père est Manuel car sur les papiers officiels c'est Manuel le père et non Dinis. Et lorque Salvador à mangé chez Dinis en présence de l'enfant, il savait de fait que c'est la fille de Candy sans avoir à se soucier davantage de l'identité du père, donc pour moi la surprise de Salvador est plausible quand il apprend finalement Carolina est sa fille. Pendant ce temps, le père de Salvador l'espionne dans son appartement directement toujours dans le but de le forcer à s'engager peu importe comment, en autant que ce ne soit pas pour être une vie gay.
