Dinky Toys 39A Packard + 180 Packard Clipper + Making window units from scratch

In this video I make window units from scratch using Amazing remelt to make a temporary buck/plug, cover the temporary buck/plug with liquid silicone rubber to make a permanent resin buck/plug to use in a vacuum former.
Note that this is my first attempt/pull of making a complete window unit from scratch using a vacuum former. Whilst its not perfect, it's still doesn't look that bad either. I've learnt a few things on how I can do it better the next time I make a window unit from scratch.
In an up coming video I'll show how I made complete window units using the vacuum former from window units that were scratched or broken.
I'll also like to thank Paul Restorer for the inspiration he provides on how we in this hobby can make our own parts.
There is a sense of satisfaction of making things yourself, istead of purchasing a replacement and then finding out the replacement isn't fit for purpose.
There are some more NEW Gadgets at Gravesend Australia Diecast Salvage that i'm starting to play with and with feature in upcoming videos when I have built up some confidence in how they work.

love the colours, and that gelee is an interesting stuff. nice to make those windows from. they might be a tad too big, but I'd say more if I had experience with that stuff; so, there. :)

This was an experiment after watching a Paul Restorer video sometime back. Yes what I did was rough. A lot was learnt and future attempts will bear this out.

Interesting how much was that vacuum former? The amazing melt is that PCL polymorph thermoplastic? I've purchased some of it but I haven't used it. I thinking because the plastic feels pretty quickly what would you need to make a resin mold couldn't you just hope the plastic going around the melt? Cheers Graham
