Katsudon is my most favorite Japanese food of all! Even if for some reason a strong wind blows away the pork cutlets from my katsudon bowl, I'd still be happy with the egg and soy sauce on rice remaining in there.

Thank you guys ! I tried many dishes at Yayoiken while I was in Tokyo. And yes Kyde, the Katsu-don is soooooooo delicious ! I Miss Yayoiken already ): I litteraly cant wait until I come back to Japan in 2017. I left Japan a month ago and already miss so much man :'D

Katsu-don is by far my favorite Japanese dish, the place I get it from here in the US, adds fine chopped Green onions before serving. Yum

I found this channel by accident tonight. I have been watching some other channels but they are either too young or self centered around their own likes. This is a real refreshing format. You guys are very like "point-counterpoint" a la SNL, on the other hand Kyde you are a riot...very funny. I enjoy Katsu in the many ways it can be presented. Thanks God for intelligent people...

Hi. First time viewer of your video & enjoyed it! I have never seen anyone so happy eating "KATSUDON" before!! You are do cute! I miss Wafu Hamburger I had in Family Restaurant in Tokyo like 20 years ago! It was 980 yen & so delicious! It was served with some horseradish & Shiso leaves which is a Japanese basil, so it is basically a Japanese style hamburger! You should try it if you haven't. Oh, that Tamagoyski looked amazing! I LOVE eggs & my mom made me Tamagoyski at least once s week when I was little & it was yummy! How long have you been living in Japan? I am originally from Tokyo but have been living in NY for a looooooong time! All of my family is still in Japan. Do you miss American food? What do you miss most?
@kydeanderic9 жыл бұрын
Sam Tanaka We have been in Japan for almost 4 years. You live in NY! Wanna trade places for a little while? We do miss American food, but not as much as when we first came here. We miss burritos the most! -Kyde

Awesome, we still haven't made it out to Tsukiji as it's a bit of a reach from where we live, but we are moving closer soon so perhaps we'll make it there. Everyone raves about the tamagoyaki, that's enough for me to be happy.

The pork is friend then simmered for like only 2-3 minutes in a sauce with soy sauce, mirin, sugar, onion and dashi :) Then the egg is poured over while it's really hot so the egg cooks slightly! It is my most favorite Japanese dish.

Been watching for a couple of years now. I’m momentarily unwell so it’s great to have a back catalogue to watch. I just recently watched you propose all those years ago and got a bit emotional. How has that happened? Thanks to you both for offering an escape. Sometimes we need to leave our own reality and escape into something else. This works for me.
