This is a good recipe, but I had a mate that started eating cheap (like off brands and meat pastes etc.) but he started going buggish, like he actually started getting insect characteristics (green skin hue, fast movements, psuedo antenas) he was eventually committed to an asylum and passed in 2020. Good recipe though mate I will try this tomorrow night.

cheap easy meals lots of veg and some cheap pasta sauces pasta can't beat it fills the belly and can make enough for a family. when times are hard stick to the basics. Plus I eat 1 meal a day late in the evening and have a physical job and no worries. 21st century don't think many would have predicted cost of living would be so brutal but me mum managed on little to nothing so was taught well

@@Thefatfoodiemcr as you say a budget is what it is so you eat what you can afford and some of this stuff is perfectly OK and doing a review on these products is excellent lots are doing the more pricey foods so someone needs to do the cheaper stuff well done

@@Thefatfoodiemcr I mean for the price I should - I’m just a bit funny with food. You know those kids who have corned beef slices and a pieces of buttered bread completely separate, rather than making a proper corned beef sandwich. I was one of those kids 😂 Hey since you are also from Manchester - did you ever have luncheon meat as a kid?
@Thefatfoodiemcr
@Thefatfoodiemcr 8 күн бұрын
Did you ever have just bread an butter buttys I did lol tasty 😋 my grandma used to make luncheon meat buttys for me the slices were always massive very chunky I didn't like the jelly stuff round the edges though. Corned beef buttys love them with abit of red onion and cracked black pepper 🤤never liked corned beef in a hash though. Not for me . I remember my grandma telling me about sugar buttys now thats a mad one

@@Thefatfoodiemcr my mum and her siblings all had sugar butties - I had jam growing up so didn’t need to make them. I bet there were sickly sweet as bread is sweet enough without loadsa sugar granules on it 😂 The Luncheon meat I got was thinly sliced - people called it Spam but that was actually something sounding more like how you described luncheon meat ha. My mum still picks up luncheon meat but for my dog now as a Saturday treat when we go round - bless her. It was only £0.90 for 100g last time I got it off Morrisons Deli Counter - but you can get it in the packet for £1 (250g) at Morrisons too. Or the thicker tin variety as you described for £2 for about 300g I think.

Think the sugar buttys was a war thing buddy .dripping buttys also she used to tell me about lol madness the healthy eating police would have a mental breakdown at things people used to eat .I love my spam crispy on a breakfast they are pretty much the same you are right buddy .I used to love going to morrisons for sugar ring donuts but they never put the ring in them so don't go there shopping as much .I shouldn't complain as you get more donut but I loved the crispy edges of the ring trapping the sugar without it there just dry balls of stodge lol

@@Thefatfoodiemcr I make it in batches though, is why it works out so cheap. Ill make around 15-20 portions in one go, trick to it is, if you use 500g mince, you want to use about 1 - 1.5kg of veg, I use carrot, celery and onion diced quite finely. I used to make bolognese with probably 75% meat and the rest veg, but it is unnecessary, it actually tastes a lot nicer the way I do it now, its like 25% meat and the rest veg. Thats also how its traditionally made.

I will only ever buy Sainsbury's chicken paste see ingredients below or salmon paste wich is haddock and salmon they do this its deceiving very very naughty it's same with fruit pureed pouches and extortionate smoothies listed as something yet main ingredients is massive percentage of apples. Also Princes brand for any thing is absolute worse for it except cornbeef everything else won't buy that brand. I like it on wholemeal toast for my supper well use to my appetite isn't wot it use to be loose interest so easily just be wary to wot your buying look at ingredients etc etc if unsure as it might just surprise you wot horrible nasties are lurking in the food and drinks adult and pet stuff INGREDIENTS: Chicken (69%), Water, Soya Protein Concentrate, Potato Starch, Wheat Flour, Chicken Fat, Salt, Yeast Extract, Pepper Extract, Sage Extract, Thyme Extract.

Your welcome it is just Horrifying wot goes into our food and drinks etc I forgot to say earlier BBC Documentaries had very very interesting series of not just our food and drinks but every day stuff and pets so sickening this is wot make it funny people claim to be vegan yet in some shape and form animals are always involved to fertilise the things we eat even candles are made with Beeswax in old days it was fish oil campers still do it today buy cheapest nastiest soaked in brine Tuna and use it for candles. Found another naughty trickery Cochineal is no longer allowed to be labeled and listed on things instead relisted as Carmine its same thing as Cochineal it's crushed Mexican Cacti Beetles there in loads things that look bright red or pink like milkshakes, Reeses, M&Ms and cakes etc anyway I'm quiet tired and sore tonight need to do my bedtime Prayers and Rosary before beddy byes I'll find the links to some these programs and pop them in comments for you over weekend nighty night everyone have Blessed good weekend

@@Thefatfoodiemcr lol, I didn't think about their chicken paste. Here's two for you to review, Sainsbury's Stamford street frozen Hotpot, comes in either Beef or Chicken and at 85p each they are an absolute bargain. Ok so the beef version needs some salt and pepper adding but once you do it gives it a much better taste. Anyways, I'd better subscribe now because I always do when when someone actually takes the time to read my drivel and bothers to reply. Cheers mate!
