that's awesome. I didn't know Wanda had kids, nor that they were white. I am black and raised two mexican sons. I also fostered a white son who was adopted out but still is in my life. It's nice to see the taboo of interracial adoption and adoption to gays is being undone. People are people, families are families.

After slaves were set free, many free black people used to grow and sell watermelon - MOST black people still believe watermelon is a fruit of celebration/freedom... how did it become a racists thing? Many black people became prosperous from the sale of the watermelon, this got the south mad, not only because they lost their free labor but because the lost the sale of of one of their prime crops - so they spread the rumors about black people being dirty, nasty and unhygienic - it did not hurt the sale of the watermelons, black people thought it was comical after a while. It is funny only because Wanda is a very proud black woman who is famous and she is still making jokes about it... nothing hypocritical about it on my part, my ancestors didn't own slaves, we are from the north and and my great great grandfather was an irish immigrant who took runaway slaves in and gave them work and shelter and helped them get into canada... and I could careless how you eat watermelon or pizza...
