We had a metal water bowl for our cat for years, and she didn't drink much, so we mixed water into her wet food too. We switched to a ceramic bowl two years ago and the cat started drinking out of it almost immediately. Might be worth trying out! Cheers.

@@stephaniestavropoulos1639 I honestly don't know. It could be taste, or it could be she couldn't see the water as well because of the reflective surface of the bowl, or maybe something else that I haven't thought of. I'm just happy she started drinking more water.

My cat didn't drink water at all when he ate dairy foods and just natural food, such as meat or chicken, since these things contain a lot of water. Now he's on a special diet, meaning cat food, but he tends to drink a lot, like 100 ml per day, only when he eats dry food. Meanwhile he generally refuses to try the wet canned food if I add water to it.

It was actually Marni Nixon (1930--2016), who sang for Deborah Kerr in "The King and I" (1956) and Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady" (1964). Her son, Andrew Gold (1951--2011), was a studio musician who played on numerous albums, including Linda Ronstadt's. He had two solo hits: "Lonely Boy (1977) and "Thank You For Being a Friend (1978), which was the theme song for the TV show, "The Golden Girls." You should try getting an automatic fountain with a carbon filter for Minnie. Cats don’t drink standing water most times because I’m the wild standing water could have bacteria and other junk in it. Cats much prefer running water which is why the tend to like slow steady faucets left on. Look into a a brand called petsafe which has several fountains with adjustable flow valves and nice carbon filters to keep particles out and keep the water from tasting stale. My car loves his and drinks water throughout the day. His even has like a gallon reservoir on bank that keep the fresh water full for days at a time.
