By far the most powerful score in the entire Twin Peaks catalog. Something so dark and brooding about this one, hits differently.

Used in the scene of BOB behind Laura's bed in episode 1 and for the opening of episode 16. Remixed for the scene of Teresa autopsy in FWWM.

I have yet to see 'Twin Peaks', yet I can feel the pain the characters go through right here. Great composing. Thanks for uploading.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but in addition to representing all the evil of Twin Peaks as the user "xPyrielx" said very well (although perhaps I would talk more about "dark powers or supernatural forces" that exist in Twin Peaks world) in the piece, or rather a masterpiece as almost all of master Badalamenti's compositions are, it appears or can be heard even reversed, or rather than reversed I would say transposed into minor keys the Twin Peaks Main Theme (I don't mean Laura Palmer's Theme or Love Theme but Falling, so the Intro, so the effective Main Theme, even if for me the real "main theme" is Laura Palmer's Theme). And I believe in two points: from the minute 00:59 to 01:05 and from 01:17 to 01:25. Then obviously also when it repeats the second time, because in practice the piece repeats itself twice: a first time up to 03:56 and a second time from here until the end. Actually in my useless opinion or vision even the first time you hear the french horn (from 02:20 to 02:35) only that in this case rather than the Main Theme being brought to a minor key (in fact while the notes of the horn are playing the key should be a C# major) it seems like a melody of the theme is being generated different. However if I noticed these details it is also because I am trying to learn the piece because perhaps I will upload my interpretation of it in about ten days, I hope I don't know, for the anniversary of Kenneth Welsh's death (for those who don't know but I think so since here they are all big fans of the Lynchian world the great Kenneth Welsh died on May 5th, 2022 at the age of 80). In practice, yes I will dedicate it to him because this is also the music present in the scene in which Windom Earle explains what the two Lodges consist of (opening of Ep. 19, "Variatons on Relations"). In truth, I already tried to interpret it three years ago (in the specific Twin Peaks '90-'91 playlist on my channel you can find it in the video with the title "A Windom Earle Suite - (for Kenneth Welsh's birthday) - Angelo Badalamenti" in fact from 2021) but, not knowing the actual name of the track, I went to listen to the music directly from the scene and therefore with Windom's words which do not make all the notes and the melody clear. So in that case it was a somewhat arrogant interpretation. But now that I've found the masterpiece I'm hearing it well. Then if we want to talk about the "scariest" masterpiece in my useless opinion I don't know if it is the scariest of all but "Half Speed Orchestra 3" is certainly one of the scariest. Always thinking about Windom Earle in some way for me Earle's Main Flute Motif and Half Speed Orchestra 3 are the two main themes of him or that would identify the character the most, at least for me. Furthermore in the part from 01:33 to 02:05 I also see some analogies with the Gollum/Smeagol themes or motifs (and also something about those related to Mount Doom) composed by Howard Shore. Considering that The Lord of the Rings comes practically ten years after Twin Peaks, I ask myself and you the question: it could actually be possible that among the composers who inspired Howard Shore (clearly above all I think Wagner) there could also be Angelo Badalamenti and precisely some music from Twin Peaks including this one?

I can´t believe that this track have like 30 years, its too dark and contemporary that easily could be used on season 3 or another Twin peaks production.

Damn true. That music haunts me since the first time I watched TP and the video "Twin Peaks message" on YT. Also, they still use the music "Dark Mood" in TP The Return, as the first time we hear it in the last episode of season 2 when Cooper discover the existence of the Lodge in the sycamore trees.
