hello! how are you? I just installed the mod in different versions and it doesnt work. I figure it out that the dinput.dll is the one that crashes my game. Do you know how can I fix it? I already tryed the dgvoodoo app, and also tried another Cracks of the game

Thanks for trying the preview pack. Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with it. Seems like a compatibility issue. It doesn't happen on the USA version that I have. It will be fixed with Gemini's REbirth patch he's working on. For now, I'd suggest try the mod on USA version. Hope that helps.

Hey man just a heads up. Having issues with the dinput.dll on sourcenext version which crashes the game after the title screen.

Yeah, I'm aware of that bug. Currently the modloader is only compatible with the USA release. I've mentioned this with teamx (the creator of the modloader) as I'm working on textures and stuff. Rest assured it will be updated to work with the REbirth patch & the texture pack as well.

Hey i finally could find a dc2 image andi nstall it. It runs fine but when i unpack your mod files the game doesnt start anymore. I tried it with the englisch and sourcenext version and a clean install where the game worked fine without mod. Any suggestion?

Technically it should work as long as it works without mod. If all else, try with the cracked exe and see that if it works. I'm still continuously working on the mod so I can confirm it works on regular and sourcenext versions.

If I understand correctly, you might be referring to the side dodges with the alternate control scheme. Currently, while testing the new keyboard controls its bound to "Alt" key. So you can walk with WASD and dodge anytime by pressing "Alt" key and its very comfortable to use. Also, you can use arrow keys to move as well.

Its actually a geometry error that's common with most games of that era and beyond scope of this project. We have to wait for Dino Crisis 2 Rebirth by gemini, which hopefully will fix these.

It is possible, but not much worth the effort since the sprites are of pretty low resolution but they already look good with forced anti-aliasing with dgvoodoo2.

Thanks for your interest. Currently with the available tools, only the backgrounds can be remastered, upscaled and get loaded into the game. And they look on par with the character textures that are already higher resolution than the backgrounds. So its not currently the scope of the project. But maybe in future when its possible to upscale and load the character textures ingame.

Actually the game backgrounds are drawn at 4:3 aspect ratio and will only work well in that proportion. Any attempt to make it wide will crop the image and you will see less of the image. If you played RE2 with seamless hd then this will be similar experience.

is kind sad the pc version use the same 240p backgrounds from ps1, this was a game from 2000. i dont get why capcom had the work of doing all this prerendered scenes and didnt hold good resolution assets from it.

I read in some interview that they initially planned it for ps2 but due to the popularity and more accessibility of public, they choose ps1 as the development platform. Also there were more versions planned to release namely dreamcast and native ps2 version which supposedly had higher resolution backgrounds but they were cancelled. Compare it to other games released in 2000 like Hitman codename 47, Spiderman and Code veronica which featured fully 3D environments. I bet Capcom still have the HD backgrounds and models from all their classic games but they just won't give it to us by any means, so its all upto us now

@@solidfiregaming i think is hard to believe they still have, cuz they lost the assets from RE1 remake, this is why RE1 HD remaster only have upscaled backgrounds and RE0 Remaster have high definition backgrounds. also RE3 for Dreamcast/PC have high resolution 480p backgrounds but RPD parts have only 240p quality cuz they reused assets form RE2. so they already didnt had those back then i guess. capcoms seems to not be careful to preserve their work. is really sad. but i hope u are right and one day they do remaster for the classic games with high def backgrounds.

Yes. And only upscaling with AI doesn't give results you would expect, so it requires finding the right textures and editing the backgrounds manually.

Absolutely!! 😊By default vanilla game have it off. Its called stepping. With my modern control scheme for Keyboards its very easy to move and dodge quickly. It will be included in the final release.

Yes. Back in the day, mocap was new tech and after recording it was edited to fit the games to look realistic. Best examples are resident evil, Dino crisis, hitman and splinter cell games.
