Dinoblade DINOSAURS FIGHTING WITH SWORDS! Souls like game in the making!

Here's an update to DinoBlade. Still in early dev but I'm happy with how it looks so far! Dinosaur with swords and other weapons has been a fun idea that started with a Spinosaurus with a buster blade, now I'm making a game out of that concept thanks to everyone for pushing me to do so!

This actually looks sick AF, i have some recommendations, status effects, maybe bleed chance on some weapons or dinos, maybe fatigue,imobilizing the opposing dinosaur when you hit them in a specific spot, maybe a gauge that shows how many times you need to hit them there till they get fatigued, lastly, aoe attacks and combo potential, make aoe damage moves or , something to fight the herds of funny sword dinos with like ground slams, finishers doing aoe, or just some large slashes.

Looks awesome! Very excited for this. As an indie game dev myself, I have a couple ideas that could improve it. But first, remember that, unless you need to fix something in order to move forward, working on new content in order to complete the game is most important. But basically I noticed the controllable dinosaur's feet don't match the movement speed, all you would probably have to do to fix that is adjust the playback speed of the walking animation. Also, the blood spray effects should be a darker red probably. Simple fix. Keep up the great work!

I love how the dino's just explode. My recommendation: make differenet explosions depending on the enemy's size. Small dino's just make poof. Big one's could make an impactful one maybe even with a little screen shake.

I know this is just for starts so they aren't many cool things but its a super cool idea. A larger battlefield, platforms without trees making the movements much more free, maybe add vibrant colourful pallette to the dino skin customisation and armour/ weapon shops, multiplayer mode, and etc...You probably had better ideas in mind since your the developer & I bet you can make this thing a banger!

I hope we'll be able to choose what weapon we want our dino warrior to have but that larger weapons will be gated to larger dinos and smaller "dex" weaponry will be gated to smaller dinos I love the idea of being a velociraptor with a tanto and climbing a t-rex like shadow of the colossus Either way I'm stoked

They should make many versions… like one battle royal type thing, one open world story mode (like Skyrim) and one mortal combat type thing but 3d like it already is, and one open world multiplayer pve and pvp map (like the isle). I know that’s a lot for a solo dev but you could probably release one at a time and get more devs to help as you gain popularity (as I’m sure you will)

I'm not sure how well it would work, but having a pterodactyl with battle claws ala guardians of ga'hoole would be cool. If we were to go with a more human-like weapon to keep with the theme of the rest of the weapons, perhaps a dual-headed spear that would look cool during a spinning attack.

I have to wonder what Paleontologists think about this future game. I mean, who is to say that dinos didn't fight with swords, spears, and bows? lol. Plus, the movement is what surprises me. Suspending a bit of realism and yet keeping that feeling of certain dinos being these heavy monstrous creatures. Yet, able to move with a grace that is surprising for their size.

I like what the trident has going, but it feels like it needs a few stabbing motions, otherwise it doesn't look like it would do much damage. Must emphasise that this looks incredible regardless, and doesn't detract from the overall quality - merely a nitpick.

Uhm.. If I may suggest a change, is to make both the spark and blood effect follow the animation flow of direction. As a critique, remember to keep both from being too distracting, else the play may get somewhat frustrated. Yes, one can place as much flair as one like. however if the game is to have some good level of difficult, is best for the player to be able to clearly track what move was used and where the opponent is for better result. Other option to make tracking easier would be the reduce the level of camouflage the dinosaurs have, or slow down the action, so there is time to retrack the opponent. Else, the animations are looking pretty good.
