Dinosaur Combo Guide! How to play Dinosaur in 2023 Competitive YuGiOh!

Never realized how insane the Scrap engine is in this deck with the destruction effects that just help loop your babies like crazy. If this deck got 3 misc back then it would probably be a top tier deck.

I think the deck is missing a good dino link monster, and the new support from the OCGs animation chronicles before it can have a resurgence like unchained. But still a solid tier 3 deck imo

@@MattOsheaYGO yeah, well at least the three miscs would really help you play through a lot of interruptions while extending plays. The boards you can make are good enough as they are and you can get protection against Nibiru out very quickly. UCT protected by misc should be devastating to a kashtira player. Now I'm trying to think of like a dino link that could recur dinos to your hand from banished or GY and you have this invincible UCT just stopping all monster plays... Only thing the deck's lacking is some backrow popping

One thing I realized recently is that you can actually get Naturia Beast through the normal combo. When you search off of Scrap Raptor, search for Scrap Searcher. This can then be normal summoned and synchro'd with the 2nd Raptor summoned off of Wyvern. Obviously, this means you'll have 1 less material to work with compared to using Chimera, but Naturia Beast is powerful enough to be worth it, in my opinion.

For sure! Nat Beast can be made many different ways in Dinos, but the deck struggles with Dark Ruler No More anyways so I prefer other forms of interaction

with ground xeno i search the xeno meteorsaurus then pop a card then use the xeno effect summon itself and if i have access to a summon of a level for i go into barren

Yeah that's definitely a possible line, but if you don't have access to a normal you can fusion and extend

The fact you didn't bring back misc was a throw, you bring back misc use it's effect so you dodge things like Nib inpurm ash ETC.

Your first combo is not good. With Baby (or Petit) + Ground Xeno it's possible end on 2 token Savage + 3 token Appo, + UCT, + Dweller, + Gigantozowler (or Petit in hand for UCT pop into Pankratops on opponent's turn) + Rank 4/6 Evolzar, while still going through Misc to protect your Dinosaurs. This combo is also less convoluted.

How can you doing all that from ground baby while still getting Misc protect since the only way you search misc to hand is Ovi summon from the baby, but if you want to use misc second eff you will only have misc and the baby in GY, Misc banish only it self to summon Archosaur probally cant get to that board, Misc banish baby and itself to summon another baby is also not work since now ovi second eff is off cause no other dino in grave so you forced to use Meteorus eff and lock your self out of stuff like Apol, the only way that board can be achieve while still having Misc protect is using traditional Dino 2 card combo since Ground and Baby as strong as it is actually have less ceiling than older 2 card combo

It sorta sucks that dino revolves around at least 1 and a half card combos or 2 or 3 at best, and no real 1 card combo starters. It makes keeping up with modern true 1 card combo decks very difficult. It just feels like the deck is 2 or 3 years out of date compared to like spright, mathmech, branded, kashtira, etc. I love the deck I just feel like they could have given the deck a lot stronger or more support without it being too strong compared to everything else in the meta. Or they could let us have Misc back to 3 and that would help a ton lol. Here's to hoping that'll happen soon.

Yeah it's so unfortunate that a whole type of monster is so under supported in 2023 but dinos aren't the only one. Misc to 3 fixes a lot, but the engine is enormous, I hope there's a way they we can get engine reduced

There is, you just don't use the scrap engine or you don't summon the second scraptor and it's weaker than expected. Lost world + scrap Raptor is a great combo though

Yes, raptor + lost world: activate lost world, normal raptor, effect raptor pop itself and trigger effect of adding chimera, extra normal summon chimera and summon back raptor from gy with chimera, then you go link scrap wyvern and use its effect to summon back raptor, pop it anmd trigger the second effect summoning the other raptor from deck and pop the token you put thanks to lost worls, use lost world to prevent destruction sending babycerasaurus and then baby triggers and you can summon oviraptor and start there. Is a weaker board but still has some negates.

I personally prefer 1 vanilla Dino monster because it can be a brick preferably any level 4 Dino

You should play at least 1 in the deck but I recommend both

In the first combo you used a baby to special a lv 6? Also can you plz explain how to summon crystal wing synchro dragon in this deck?

I see what's confusing there, but I used the effect of Xeno Meteoris to destroy the baby and special a normal dino from deck (frostosaurus) then in a seperate chain baby will trigger and summon a lv 4 or lower. To get to crystal wing, all you need is xeno Meteoris and a card to set. Activate Xeno Meteoris destroy a dino and summon frostosaurus. Synchro into ultimaya tzolkin, set a card and activate tzolkins effect to special crystal wing from extra deck 👍

So in your first combo you summoned linkuriboh to an invalid zone. So correcting that mistake cross sheep’s effect would have activated making you special summon a level 4.

Oops! You're right! But I already used cross sheep's effect, it's once per turn, and it's also optional! Thankfully the mistake doesn't change the combo 😅

I dont understand why no on else uses scrap golem once u use scrap wyvern to destroy raptor u can add chimera and special summon golem use its effect to special summon raptor to ur side of the field and go into apollousa and then normal summon chimera and get your raptor back only issue would be having chimera on the end board but u can just use it to go into masquerana and with giant rex go into a link 3 like onightmare unicorn plus with golem u have an extra none dino in ur grave and its not a link which could be used for accesscode effect

The main reason I don't is because it's another Brick in the deck and there are already a lot of them, but yeah it can raise the ceiling

It sucks that I have not been seeing any combos with transcendosaurus Glaciasaurus since I think the card can provide some good protection for dinos and it will make some decks even question if they can get rid of it.

Actually its effect to protect one's from the grave as u never use get monsters from your grave and the closest you get is special summoning misc with the new xyz but until kaitoptera and horned saurus come out all new dino cards are pretty useless except ground xeno and that's only cause it improves the consistency and give you less brick cards in ur deck but it's still not amazing unless ur a heavy turn 2 player which in that case its a lot better

i mean... if you open Ovi + Ovi with nothing else, theres no combo xD if its Ovi+Ovi+any baby, its full combo and you have follow up for the next turn!

Good video ! In the first combo, you cannot use the scrap raptor on your field + the normal level 4 monster in your hand to special summon the Gigantozowler. Ground Xeno says that you can fusion summon with monsters in your hand or on your field, and not "and/or" :P

And/or doesn't actually matter here. It's like branded fusion which lets you use hand deck or field, and you can mix and match. Ground xeno is the same. It's simply saying that the monsters must be in your hand or field to be used. 👍

Just look at older combo guides. They don't use Ground Xeno which is the only expensive card used here that can't be replaced (Baronne can be replaced with Chengying).

Scrap wyvern is non dinosaur monster. It is actually dragon. So all this linkuriboh is just waste of extra deck space

You're right it's a non dino, you need more than one for the multiple evolution pills in your deck. Also it helps you turn aninadorned argosaur into a one card pill activation with secure guardna. I think it's a must play in the deck
