@LuigiG145
@LuigiG145 9 жыл бұрын
As you are watching this, you probably noticed a Crocodyliform in the flood water snatching one of the Centrosaurus. Contrary to what people will tell you, that was not Sarcosuchus. The setting for this video is North America. Sarcosuchus is only known to have come from North Africa. Whether or not Sarcosuchus coexisted with Spinosaurus is often the subject of debate, as many authors state that Sarcosuchus appeared during the Aptian stage of the early Cretaceous and instead coexisted with the spinosaur Suchomimus. And though Sarcosuchus is often said to be a Crocodile, he is in fact, not a crocodile. Sarcosuchus is part of a separate branch of Crocodyliforms called Pholidosaurids and while they are related to Crocodilians, they are not Crocodilians themselves. The term Crocodilian only applies to those Crocodyliforms within Crocodylia, such as Alligators and the genus Crocodylus (Crocodiles). Both these forms of Crocodyliforms are within the order Crocodylomorpha, which has multiple families and branches both extinct and extant. Based on Temporal ranges, the Crocodyliform in the video is likely Deinosuchus, which to my knowledge is a true Crocodilian and shares a close phylogenetic relationship with Alligators.

Luigi Gaskell yes it's a deinosuchus, which may have existed with centrosaurus and daspletosaurus. Sarcosuchus didn't lived with spinosaurus, instead it existed with suchomimus and ouranosaurus in the elrhaz formation. It also lived in the ilhas formation in Brazil. While on Wikipedia it said that the crocodile seen in this segment was possibly deinosuchus.

Yes, and no. During the end of the dinosaur's reign, birds have already split away from the dinosaurs. So birds are decendents from dinosaurs, but aren't literally dinosaurs. And their wouldn't be any dinosaur without its share of reptilian ancestry. Modern crocodiles and monitor lizards are the 2nd closest relatives (behind birds) to the dinosaurs of the Cretaceous, and are even more closely related to the dinosaurs before!

This video is a great example of showing how Daspletosaurus hunted Centrosaurus and the struggles the Centrosaurus faced while trying to swim across the river. It also shows how it is similar to how modern-day cheetahs hunt wildebeest and the struggles wildebeest face while crossing rivers too. I also like how Prehistoric Planet (2022-2023) it shows how some Tyrannosaurus are shown hunting some Edmontosaurus at night like how modern-day African lions hunt their prey at night and that Corythoraptor brooded their nests of eggs like modern birds and also protected them from predators like Kuru Kulla like how Gigantoraptor brooded their nests of eggs like modern birds and also protected them from Alectrosaurus.

We've actually found direct evidence that _Tyrannosaurus_ at least hunted in small groups like wolves. A few(?) years ago we found footprints that could only have been made by multiple adult _Tyrannosaurus'._ They most probably did live in small packs of a few adults and some juveniles, and provided direct care for the young, mostly from the mother and father but also other members of the pack, again much like wolves today.
