Lmao imagine really believing somehow you're a mature adult and have outgrown the Hollywood versions of dinosaurs and much prefers the 'real" dinosaurs. Whatever TF you believe real dinosaurs supposedly looked like. There are as many assumptions made at your favorite museum as there are made in a Hollywood basement. And these assumptions continually change....

With so much media focus on the predators and the size arms race with the sauropods, it's easy to forget how big the non-sauropod herbivores got. I wouldn't be surprised if we'll eventually find injuries from other ceratopsians on rex fossils.

The name "Irritator" comes from the fact that the scientists involved with the discovery were angered to know that the snout had been artificially elongated during excavation, which left its initial classification inaccurate, and they had to reanalyze the fossil much more than necessary to classify it.

Amphicoelias got nerfed to 110 - 120 tons and 37m and it got renamed to Maraapunisaurus, the true largest dinosaur is Bruhathkayosaurus with a total of 130-170 tons and possibly 200 tons but the 200 ton mass is most likely to be a overstatement and Bruhathkayosaurus is 45m. Bruhathkayosaurus was originally invalid because of the poor remains and the only fossils of it disappeared and was considered to be a tree but luckily there where photos of the fossils and Paleontologists agree it's a valid genus somewhere in 2022

Mei Long wasn't supposed to go extinct, keeping one as a pet would have been awesome. But, I have a feeling that some of these dinosaurs are simply juvenile forms of their larger counterparts. Also, some of them simply have sexual dimorphism, which means that even though they appear different, they are members of the same species, e.g a peacock and a peahen. And, there are some that belong to the same species but simply look different because they're different breeds.

You know, 7 months later I have a suggestion: height is way more awe-inspiring than length. I mean, if humans were measured the same way, we would mostly be between 0.5 - 0.75 m and you should have shown the humans lying flat on their backs. The Giraffatitan 13:46 was one of the most impressive, but featured way below some lengthy, but smaller competitors.

There are several species of Allosaurus, the most common being a.fragilis. Specimens ranged from 8.5-10 metres long and estimated 750kg - 2.5 tonnes in weight. A number of larger specimens previously attributed to allosaurus in the 70s-1990s have been since redescribed and placed in another genus; at the same time material attributed to other animals have been reassigned as a larger species of allosaurus. So this is the size of a typical allosaur adult found in the Morrison formation.

Странно....на каком основании природы, были такие высокие, массивные динозавры. Ведь если такое животное упадет, то оно понесёт серьезные травмы. Были ли они вообще?

@tracboy80
@tracboy80 29 күн бұрын
Typically it was this size from the multiple specimens found in the Morrison formation. The Baryonyx walkeri found in 1986 was a juvenile estimated 8.5_9.5 in length (though only 70% complete specimen). Teeth from larger 10m adults have been found.

Everytime I see dromaeosaurid theropods without feathers or with ridiculous half-naked settings of feathers, I feel so disappointed. And dilophosaurus did not have that silly fringe around the head, no dinosaur ever had that. They just incorporated things from the movies.

Agreed! It's kinda funny though, after growing up with only scaly versions of theropods, now when I see them without any sort of feathers/proto-feathers they seem.. comically naked :'D They've been plucked. Their dignity!!

@@skzophreniaaa_ Tyrannosaurus Rex only had feathers as a juvenile not as an adult. But Velociraptors did have feathers as they’re closely related to modern birds and belonged to the ornithological genre of dinosaurs (meaning that they’re related/evolved to/into modern birds by the hip/pelvis structure) where as the Tyrannosaurus Rex belonged to the reptile genre of dinosaurs (who evolved into modern reptiles). Also Velociraptors were also small where as the ones in Jurassic Park are actually closer to the size of the Utahraptors, also have you ever noticed that birds of prey such as Eagles, Falcons and Hawks are the sub genre called Raptors?
