He was about 60 years old here - and it interesting, cause' when his voice aged, his italian/operatic heritage became more evident. In this clip, he is very close to opera, theater etc... He articulates and dramatizes for all his worth 🌟 Brilliant man 🤘👍💥

The guy is a great guitarist, the ultimate replacement! Seems like he's in a lot of good bands, but usually when they're at the tail end of their creativeness. Reminds me of singer Doogie White in that way. LOL

Saw these guyz in Seattle, (with KingsX) and was so happy that Doug Aldrich, (had never heard of him) was respectful to Vivian's solo's yet he brought a passion and clarity that was so impressive I'll never forget em'...what a talent he is!

Dio had an exceptionally natural feel for the arts in general and it is so apparent in his song writing, unsurpassed vocal prowess and theatrical onstage body language. Absolutely unique in his style, like Jimi Hendrix, we will never see the likes of Ronnie James Dio ever again.

Doug Aldridge to me has always been one of those guitarists that plays with soul and he makes it look effortless. He is one of my influences! Don't get me wrong Vivian is a fantastic player and I idolize him as well. Ian Campbell (northlander30)

Viv's a smoking guitar player; I was kinda disappointed when he joined Leppard & basically disappeared in their mix. At the same time, Doug Aldrich is an amazing player as well, and plays it like Viv did originally. Both incredibly talented, both worthy of filling the lead slot in Dio...

I SWEAR I WAS AT THE CONCERT FOR KILLING THE DRAGON ALBUM, WHEN DIO DID WE ROCK AND THE LAST IN LINE, NOW THIS IS IN VEGAS AT THE MANDALAY BAY HOUSE OF BLUES IN NOVEMBER. DIO WOULD COME TO ALOT OF US AND SAY YOU ROCK YOU ROCK YOU ROCK LAS VEGAS WE ALL ROCK, THEN WHEN HE DID THE LAST IN LINE HE WOULD SAY YOUR THE LAST IN LINE YOUR THE LAST IN LINE LAS VEGAS WHERE THE LAST IN LINE. IN CONCERT HE WAS SUCH A GENTLEMAN, HE NEVER CURSED HE PUT ON THAT MEAN FACE YOU NEED TO MAKE THE SONG GREAT WHILE SINGING, THEN AFTER SONG WAS OVER HE WOULD BE REAL POLITE.

Saw Dio on his last solo tour 2002-3? with Deep Purple and The Scorpions. Dio opened and the turnout was very disappointing for his set. Where was all this support he has now back then? A lot of people should be ashamed of themselves! Vivian Campbell was and will always be his best guitar player of his solo work. Saw a interview w him saying how he didn't care for his current band and was more than ready to do the Heaven and Hell performances. Thanks for the great memories RIP.

I saw Holy Diver then like a year later they did the Last in Line Tour and I saw that. DIO was so good I can't remember I was going a lot back then to any show I could make; who opened for those two tours, different each show but still can't remember? I remember seeing Pantera and YnT as opening acts, 1 opened for KISS I thought but was told no, maybe DIO can't remember. I thought they would suck ass and had a cheesy looking show, but Dime hit it and got my attention fast!! In 84 you could tell Dime Bag was going to be a force to reckon with as he got exposure, we were a small venue to DIO but he packed it. Who I saw Pantera open for I can't say, just that when I saw their equipment compared to what DIO packed and the lights, pyro and smoke and mirrors they use to give you an experience. Pantera had like 4 stacks for each, and that was it aside from a banner that looked like a kid made in his garage or High School Art Class. Wish I could go back or find the footage, one stop I bet a camera had access.
