Ironically you could keep the damn drum of it in your office until test/cal sources were made from it, at which point it then became a registered source that required tracking and custody papers, and could only be handled by those certified to work with radiation... en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radium_Girls the Radium Girls were female factory workers who contracted radiation poisoning from painting watch dials with self-luminous paint. Painting was done by women at three different United States Radium factories, and the term now applies to the women working at the facilities: one in Orange, New Jersey, beginning around 1917; one in Ottawa, Illinois, beginning in the early 1920s; and a third facility in Waterbury, Connecticut. The women in each facility had been told the paint was harmless, and subsequently ingested deadly amounts of radium after being instructed to "point" their brushes on their lips in order to give them a fine tip; some also painted their fingernails, face and teeth with the glowing substance. The women were instructed to point their brushes because using rags, or a water rinse, caused them to waste too much time and waste too much of the material made from powdered radium, gum arabic and water.

This thing was very popular in India around 7-8 years ago. It cost ₹3000 at that time which was around $60 at that time. And it claimed that it's made in Japan from the volcanic eruption (lava). And people were believing it so much because of a great earthquake in Japan at that time. I didn't remembered much about it but peoples were believing the claims very much. And purchasing it. One more product mobile radiation stopper was very popular at that time when in India people use keypad phones (Nokia ones). It was like a shape of racing track and 1 cm in length. It was just a fine mesh (very fine net) of some metal and people have to paste it on the speaker (from where we listen calls). I tested it but it didn't have any effect. I tested it by keeping mobile near television and when any calls comes there was some tet-ret-tee tet-ret-tee in normal but when I pasted that mesh nothing happend, results were same sound still changes in tv (sound starts just 2 second before the phone will ring and will stop after phone starts ringing). Cost ₹500 and around $10 at that time There was aslo another product called heart card same like atm card. Which you have to put in shirt's pocket in heart side and it also claimed same thing as the mobile radiation stopper. Cost ₹1500 or $ 30 at that time But I didn't believe that it will work because if we stop radiation how will phone work? 😂 Also mobiles work on EMW and light is also EMW. And people used to believe that mobile radiation is bad but when I tell light is also the same thing they just don't believe and ignores me. But now in India everyone is addicted to smartphones and don't care even a bit about radiation. How time changes 😂 Also I messed the English, sorry for that but it's understandable as I wrote what came in mind.

Great video but of course I was expecting you would measure the weight and the volume enabling us to calculate density of the material. I doubt it contains significant amounts of Thorium dioxide but even low amounts, if there is detectable more than background radiation will do no good. Thorium-232 decay chain contains multiple alfa decays so it should have more alfa activity. Somewhere in the middle is the Radon noble gas, a known carcinogen which is released even if you do not touch the pendant.
