No that’s not correct. Charlotte Caffey, Gina Schock, and Kathy Valentine all had music training. Kathy played guitar for years, but she never played bass. She learned bass on a 3 day coke bench. That’s pretty good. Gina was already a good drummer before she joined the band. It made a huge difference with the bands sound and steered it to a different direction from the previous drummer. Charlotte played piano and learned classical music. Charlotte and Jane are a huge part of the song writing. I do agree on Belinda though. Jane had little experience with guitar, but she learned quick.

I know...yet, she claimed (at the time) that by 1985, she didn't drink or do cocaine. I was so disappointed to find out, in her 21st Century interviews, she never really totally stayed clean, even keeping that truth away from her Husband. I always loved the idea that, during her greatest success, she was completely healthy, drug and alcohol-free, looking gorgeous...it was only half true. I wonder, how was she able to keep up w/ her (then, new) exercise regimen, which led to her weight loss, yet was still taking cocaine? Did the coke keep her fit and able to run?
