To clarify, this review is for the MEDIUM Book Tote. I refer to it as the small in the video because Dior used to call this the small. Dior changed the names of the sizes when they added a new size to the lineup and this is now the medium.

I love your style Carol! It’s a beautiful version you have! It’s very tempting but I personally can’t pay the hefty price tag for a fabric bag. Thank you so much for this comment! I can definitely do a video like that. I don’t have many bags from Dior though - only this one and my matte Lady Dior. The rest are a mix of different accessories. I keep trying to buy another bag from the brand but it never works out 😅

It’ll fit under the seat but I personally wouldn’t take it on a plane because I prefer something that zips up and is in a material that I can wipe down. A lot of people seem to take their book tote traveling though, especially the size that’s larger than the one I own. So size wise it’s good, but it’s not quite as carefree as I would like. Hope that helps.

I don’t personally use an organizer for this bag but it seems like Samorga is a popular choice for other people.

Not really. The handles aren’t quite long enough (fits over the shoulders but with barely any space to spare) and they’re also stiff.

I do still use it but I will say I don’t love the pattern as much as I used to. Toile de jouy is overdone at this point and I’m a bit tired of it. It’s still a very pretty pattern but I wish I got something more unique.

It has surprisingly held up great! There’s no sagging or any structure issues and still quite clean looking without any visible darkening of the canvas.

I don’t think it’s a good choice because it’ll be very heavy with a laptop and textbooks and the bag doesn’t really have the best proportions for carrying it over your shoulder. If you’re walking a lot on campus it’ll get super tiring holding it handheld or by your elbow.

I’m planning to buy a small book tote and I want it personalized. Do you know how to go about it? Do they charge for the embroidery? And how long it takes?

If you buy it at the boutique, you can let them know when you purchase it. Or if you purchase it elsewhere I’m pretty sure you can still bring it to a store and ask them too. They do charge for the embroidery. I believe it’s around $300 (don’t remember the exact price anymore). And I was told that it would take 6-8 weeks but I’m not sure if covid would have any impact on the timeframe.

this bag in all its iterations is just a beauty! I've been looking at it for a while and I do need to go into the boutique and have a look at it/try it on however I don't know if I will ever use it enough to justify it/ I am short so I feel it may dwarf me.

If you can, going to see it in person will help a lot. I think the small book tote is manageable for my height (5’4”) but the larger one is way too overwhelming against my body. It’s also not a bag that has a great coat per wear for me but I still love it.

Try to use a base shaper to protect the base of the bag from sagging. Is it heavy after putting your laptop and other stuff?

I have the small Dior book tote and it is 10.5 inches wide, so it doesn’t fit a MacBook.

You're right - the current small size doesn't fit a macbook. This video is an older one from back when the current medium size was called the small.

Great video. In my opinion, there is absolute not a fact to justify the price for that handbag. Yes, if you like it, you can afford and you will enjoy it, get it! That is the only thing that matters. But again, ore than two thousand dollars for fabric? I mean, it don’t even have a have a lining!

From a practical and functional perspective, the Neverfull is definitely better. But in terms of look, I prefer the Book Tote. I’m actually planning on making a video comparing the two so I’ll go into more detail there.
