I was hesitant about this fragrance at first, I was blown away by the first whiff of top notes. And then it lasted a strong 24 hours on my skin I could not believe it. The dry down is a close skin scent that is just delicious. I was never a fan of gourmands but this one is special. I’m loving the balance of sweetness with the tobacco. I think I’m obsessed...

I actually think it's very smoky... Def warm. a bit sweet but not overly sweet to my nose... Not milky either!!! Longevity is great to me. Nothing light about it!

I totally agree with what you said how different people may experience it differently. I've got Tobacolor and love it even in the current 10C weather here in the UK. I'm not into overly sweet perfumes though. I bought Santal Noir after watching your review some time ago and didn't like it at all, I found it way to heavy and overly sweet on me, which was a good lesson to sample first and not blind buy. I've been into fragrances only for a few months but I find that people tend to lean on others' opinions online too much. Even if your taste is similar your sense of smell may be different. Watching youtube videos and reading is still a good source of info though. This one i've bought after sampling, a total win for me.

Who knows Sebastian knows what he think about this one, usually when he loves something, he said this one is amazing, wonderful, gorgeous, must try... etc. Just telling you guys get a sample, this one is not for blind buy, give it a chance, who knows maybe you fall in love with it..

I enjoyed your review of Tobacolor. This perfume smells to me as a combination of honey, amber, mild oriental spices, and wet fruits (which I now know what they are). That amber is the same one used in Dior Amber Nuit, so Tobacolor immediately reminds me of it. To be honest, I don’t get anything that reminds me of the traditional tobacco aroma I smell from tobacco perfumes, and I have a very large collection of them. Tobacco is my most favorite scent. However, if there is tobacco in Tobacolor, it is a secondary or tertiary note that exudes different and unique facets of tobacco I have not smelled before, perhaps a mildly floral aspect of it-is there blond tobacco flower in here? But to smell the same undeniable and discernible tobacco scent that I smell from Tobacco Vanille, By Kilian Back To Black, Andy Tauer Sundowner, Mancera Red Tobacco, PdM Herod, or Tobacco by Franck Boclet, none of that-I would have mentioned Xerjoff Naxos, but I think that is primarily a honey perfume (very little tobacco). In fact, if I was to sample Tobacolor blindfolded and was not told of its name, I wouldn’t be able to tell you there is tobacco in it. My nose doesn’t distinctively smell tobacco. I wouldn’t categorize Tobacolor as a tobacco dominant perfume. In this regard, as a tobacco note lover, Tobacolor has disappointed me, though it smells very good as a spicy honey, amber, and fruit perfume.

I have this fragrance and it is beautiful but it doesn't go beyond 8 hours for me and it is only loud for 2 hours. After that it is a mature sweet scent

I had to get a decant of this and I have to say its definitely nice. Sweet and warm but definitely not blind buy worthy, one you have to try before you buy. I love my honey and tobacco fragrances so was pleasantly surprised. I can't understand why folk are hating on this so much. A great release a potential full bottle buy for me just shame its now summer.

The Dior store sales lady in Dubai mall sprayed one spray on my left arm, reminded me of Shisha somke in the beginning, went to my hotel while walking there was this huge cloud around me, took a shower ,its there, slept and woke up the next morning its there my room my bed my bellows, its beyond beast and I love beastly perfumes, went back and bought a 250 ml bottle, costs around $400. Huge compliment magnet.

I don’t smell fruit at all I didn’t know what it was. I just got a sample and I smell smoke and vanilla. I like it a lot and will be wearing it for fall for sure !

Great review Sebastian! I love this new release from Dior. Personally, it gives me a hookah type of vibe. Now when it comes to what this fragrance reminds me of, it's like if you took El Born by Carner Barcelona and combined it with BR540 by MFK. However, it's a unique fragrance in its own right. In terms of performance, both longevity and projection were excellent on my skin. it lasted all day on me, and I was able to pick it up even when I woke up the other day. I also could get whiffs from an arm length 3 hours after applying it on my skin.

I’ve tried this one few days back, I agree with you, a lot lot lot of honey, overly sweet, the mix of honey, tobbaco, smoke and the spices makes this one too sharp, I dont know..I would say the composition is not balanced if you will, there is something makes this one too heavy and sharp for my taste. Regarding performance, agree when you said this one screems in the first hour or two, longevity is good, 7-8 hours. We all were excited waiting for this one, but for me that was disappointing in terms how does it smell.. Thank you Sebastian, definitely one of my favorite channels ever, since your taste is as mine, waiting for more.. Best regards from Saudi Arabia..

Great vid Sebastian as always very thorough. Since I have the original formula Michael Kors and this has similarities I think I'll pass especially at that price point. Maybe down the road I may take a shot plus not sure I want overly syrupy. I thought it was ironic you camped on the longevity point because you're right what does or doesn't work for you i.e. longevity, siage, etc may be the opposite for me. It is really a crap shoot unless I want to buy a sample for every fragrance I want to buy to see if it works or not and then that could get spendy too especially when I find " Oh I would have liked that scent all the way around, so I wish I would have just bought it ought right."

I read the comments on fragrantica, most people said it smells so strong and like an ashy and dark kind of tobacco, some of them said it smells quite like a heavy smoker guy!! I'm so much into tobacco but not into sweet fragrances.....since I almost got the same taste like that of yours (almost 90%), you kind of talked me outta buying it....so thank you so much 🤩

I love it I think is the best release so far ! Definitely masculine! Sweet but not cloying ! On me lasts all day ! From the perfumes that reminds me a bit is just black phantom in a way! I believe Demachy is the best perfumer and if he could really create perfumes just for his fun outside Dior they would be Devine ... he is the nose 100%

Hi Sebastian, how are you? So, I just received my sample of this last week. I’m not sure about it yet...the dry down on my skin turns into a gourmand/coffee vibe, If I’m smelling correctly. The dried fruit and honey take a while to dry down. It’s unique for sure, but I think I’ll stick to Patchouli Imperial.

You may definitely want to go for CD Tobacolor. I believe it’s more on a Smoky and Fruity side which is on a mild and pleasant DNA and nothing more like just Honey.

On the perfume test strip I had a liquor of 🍑peach mixed with organic honey all mixed with a high amount of tobacco. It is warming and loud and more adapted for winter. It is fruity and you can say it is a dior privé collection by the obsession of putting peach in it. However on my skin I got URINE. I wanted one thing, go back home and take a shower. I don't know if it happened to someone else but please if it happened to you too let me know .
