0 corresponds to black and 255 to white. In power law, s = cr^y now according to graph if gama value is less than 1, it will result into a brighter pixel. But lets say c = 1 , r = 16 and gama = .5, so output pixel here will be 4 and thats darker right, i dunno where am i going wrong.

S=L-1-r(substituting r=L-1) which gives S=L-1-L-1(after L and -L get cancelled) S=-2 Or S=L-1+(-L+1) Am I still wrong??
