Love the video!!! Only thing is most dip powder top coats easily get contaminated (especially for beginners who might not wipe off the nail very well) so it’s almost always recommended to wipe off your brush after each time the brush touches the nail because it makes contact with the activator. If you don’t consistently wipe off your dip top coat brush you could harden your brush and ultimately ruin the entire bottle of top coat. It’s amazing that you don’t have to wipe off your brush each time but from my experience almost every dip top coat I’ve tried (including this brands) I have to religiously wipe off my brush or it hardens the brush. Some brands are also more susceptible to contamination. For instance Revels liquids easily get contaminated so if you don’t wipe the brush off consistently, by the 2nd or 3rd nail the brush is hard and you can no longer apply the top coat.

@@txrn79 I made this comment a year ago and still stand by this. BUT I have learned recently that if you use alcohol after letting the activator dry you shouldn’t have any issues with your brush hardening! This plus wiping off your brush should solve the problem of your brushes getting hard. Try this and lmk if it works for you 🤗

Hi Kate!!! First congratulations on reaching 40,000 subscribers!!! 🎊 Second, do you suggest after wiping the second layer of activator to go over all your nails with an alcohol to be more sure that no activator is left before I apply top coat ???

i have never needed to use alcohol! i find just taking a lint free wipe and going through once is good enough. it’s tricky because you still need that activator in place for the top coat to harden properly, however you don’t want it to be excessive to where the nails are wet with activator.

OMG LOVE THE VIDEO! I don’t know if you’re gonna know what I’m saying, but can you do dip powder nails with sheer glitter. By that i mean like it looks as if you put a sheer glitter top coat, but with dip powder. Would you mix the glitter dip powder with more clear? I’m gonna do a fall look this weekend for thanksgiving .

Hi love!!! I’ve Baught two sets of liquids already and they both have horrible top coats, one is the OPI and the other is JC beauty concepts. Will I still get the shiny finish if I used another brands liquids and any other brand powders? If I can combine top coat with other brands which gel top coat do you recommend!! Thank you so much!

hi! yes, you can combine top coat with other brands. the shininess of the topcoat mainly depends on the quality of the topcoat itself. I really recommend the nail addict no wipe gel topcoat!

hi! it may have dried out and gone bad. there isn’t much you can do at that point with that bottle.

What’s the difference between the gel top coat and the dip top coat?

the gel top coat needs to be cured whereas dip powder top coat air drys. i personally prefer gel because it’s easier to work with and more durable in my opinion!
