The scenes captured in this video as a back drop for this amazing song are so full of the contrasts of the existence of humanity from the many devastating and depressing lows to the few and far between highs. It is a bit jarring - even shocking perhaps - to witness the poor and downtrodden, the weak and struggling underbelly of what is often and perhaps mistakenly touted as the richest country on the planet. But this is New Orleans in all of its garish beauty which only the observers and participants have the ability to adequately and accurately define and categorize for themselves. It is the sadness that we feel and acknowledge when we compare it to our own mostly comfortable and perhaps frazzled and driven lives of slightly more abundance and a bit more predictability. Life in America - make of it what you will for yourselves. But no matter the high or the low, it all comes with it's own inherent demands and obligatory sacrifices. 💰💲💸
