@@DizzyKrissi i bet Sultans in particular had that effect on alot of people. That clean tone really showcased Knopflers style and skill beautifully. Such a unique piece of music. The whole band was tight. Im always amazed when listening to their albums how solid they were as a group.

In the first part this strings-like sound somehow feels like fluctuating in pitch - is this by purpose? When the organ sets in it feels fine again.

It’s a detuned string sound- classic 80’s - maybe I should not have left it naked like that at the beginning! , they usually later them….
