Sorghum looks a good crop. UK Dairy farmers would love to grow such rich crops. They have to buy Soya & Maize from you Guys 🇺🇸

How does the sorghum compare to corn? Thanks for your witness

Over all it's similar. Protein is about the same. The starch is a little lower in sorghum verses the corn, but then the sugar is a lot higher. So over all it feeds about the same. One thing we notice is that our components always are higher when we have some sorghum in the ration. Milk production stays about the same and we usually gain about 2 tenth of a percent of BF. So overall we like it. I don't think I would exchange corn for sorghum as a single crop, but in some double crop situations it works great. It costs about 1/3 as much as corn to plant it and it takes a lot less water to get a good crop.
