This tune will never die - The 1980s were special - in my opinion, the only decade that can match the 1960s blow for blow...

It's amazing the stick it had for music , culture etc . The 80's was great .

The musical evolution from 1980 to 1989 was crazy in hindsight. So many new genres and styles evolved thanks to rapid technological developments.

@@dietermitplatten You are so right. This also applies to Movies - the best decade ever for Classic Film/Movie releases- From The Elephant Man to Back 2 the Future, FROM Chariots of Fire to The Terminator and more.

@@dietermitplattenabsolutely it was an explosion of evolution, so many genres in just 10 years, electro, hip hop, house/garage and and all this amazing 80s soul, not to mention the pop (not my thing) but still crazy, more decent music creativity than the the last 35 years easy

When the sounds of London barreled down on Lagos via the Capital FM waveband and saved for posterity on Maxell Chrome cassette tapes..

Just sorting through a box of old 12 inch singles and came across this track. Have to confess I had to come on here to remember what it sounds like - excellent!

If I really had to choose one 80s soul track, and I love hundreds of them, if I had to, I’d say this one

Please, could someone be so kind to transcribe the lyrics of this great tune for all people, like me, who don't speak English? Thank you in advance.

I guess you won't be coming round again Now you are a lover, not a friend You're in too far, now this could be the end To tell the truth, I never could pretend Ref.: I don't want anything I don't need anything from you I don't want anything I don't need anything from you I don't want anything I don't need anything from you I don't want anything Whatever you wanna give will do I know you won't be coming round no more No late nights with a bottle knocking on my door No smiling to brighten up my day Ever since the night I let you stay (ever since I let you stay) Ref. What a way to say 'goodbye' You never called me and I'm left to wonder why What a way to say 'goodbye' Don't hold your breath if I'm supposed to sit and cry Ooh, say 'goodbye' Say 'goodbye'
