This is awe-inspiring! Love the music, it is so true too about walking on broken glass!

Love seeing the solar powered studio, how much of the equipment can run from the pv panels? As someone who worked in a glass studio with two waterjets, I can attest that they are fun, but very expensive to operate and laborious to maintain. Few glass artists really exploit the possibilities of a waterjet effectively.

Hi Lexi, We use 150 grit for a smoother surface on the cut edge. Our nozzle is a standard Omax Max-Jet with a .030" kerf. We've found several glass brands do not make good waterjet food, Bulls Eye especially. Other than that, your waterjet shop needs to have had experience cutting glass, it is somewhat of an art, not nearly as simple as cutting metal.

Thanks so much! Yes, I'm using Bullseye, so that might explain it. We had some breast cancer ribbon pendants cut, and it blasted out the back pretty badly. But we were also on a Flow Waterjet with 80 grit, I believe. Do you guys hire out waterjet cutting services for glass folks? Just curious.

Can you guys tell us anything about what size grit you're using, and what size tip? I've tried having glass cut on a water jet cutter, but it destroys the glass. Any info appreciated!

If you look closely, the squiggles are a design element in the finished bowl.

Not very impressed by the product considering what can be done with such equipment.

That's fine - I totally get it. Art is subjective and we all use tools in different ways since each of us has our own vision and our own voice.
