Directing Toyota Commercials with Ben Carter

Ben Carter is commercial and documentary director and writer from North Carolina. As a child his dad scored pit passes to a NASCAR Winston Cup race at Charlotte Motor Speedway and things were never the same. A curiosity around cars and the humans attached to them was born. After spending his twenties touring the country and making records with his band he found a new creative outlet when a close friend started teaching him photography.
Early in his filmmaking career Ben found himself wearing a variety of hats on projects. Today, that extensive experience as a writer, cinematographer, editor, colorist and post sound mixer has taught him invaluable collaboration skills as a director with people in those positions.
Ben has had the privilege of directing and writing commercials and brand campaigns for Toyota, Lexus, Harley Davidson, Blue Cross Blue Shield and General Tire. Away from filmmaking Ben is a decent photographer, mediocre cook and below average cyclist but hopefully a pretty good husband to Erica and dog dad to Linda the rat terrier.
