Of all the genius things I understood in maths class, proportionality was one I somehow never fully grasped. Now I'm just assumed to understand it in my university astronomy class. This video finally helped me get it. Thank you!

this is still difficult to grasp with all this mathematical jargon talk. could you please use more fun relatable analogies with visual imagery? we are humans and visual stimulation goes a long way and it would help a lot more people having difficulty understand this stuff or even have an interest in learning it. it's just a thought and thank you for your work.

lmao do you not what the word multiply means. This video is for the older kids dont worry if you dont understand
@volunteer1009 жыл бұрын
I understood everything. At 4:14 you say to multiply each side by 3. But only the left side (3x6) was multiplied by 3 and the right (k/3 )was divided by 3? which cancels out 3 and leaves you with K.
@sweeetlow9 жыл бұрын
Joseph Hernandez
@lifewithkuri9 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Hernandez It was simply misworded. k/3 is multiplied by 3, or 3/1. He meant the threes cancel each other out since one is a numerator and the other is a denominator. Like, if the equation was 1/3 times 3/1, where the answer is 1, you can do the maths with your fingers or simply cancel out the opposing threes to make 1/1. In this case, k/3 times 3/1 equals k/1.

so what if the letters were not x and y ?would you still use the formula y=kx?
@danielbaldegger4518 жыл бұрын
+Seleen Mcmillan Yes. x and y can be anything. So if you said x + 2 = 4 you would know x is 2. You could also say y + 2 = 4 or m + 2 = 4. The letters just represent a number. Hope that helps.
